Magic erasers work great, just wish they lasted longer. They make a heavy duty version, but it still wears out pretty quick.

It's a pain to clean, but not MUCH worse than a regular roller. At least, if you assume (as I do) that there's no need to have it laboratory-spotless between uses.

I drew in water and blew it out a few times, then washed the roller the way you'd wash any roller. The trick will be when I switch colors. We'll see how well it works then.

I'm off to buy paint now...

Looking at that painting stick, I was wondering
right off of the bat about how to clean it.
Maybe if doing dual rooms, do all of the ceilings at
one whack, and then get a new one for the walls.
How are you doing tiling? Heh :]

Yeah...the splatter guard would probably work fine if you applied nice, even pressure to the roller.

I'm an aggressive-pissed-off-I hate this color-shit I splattered it on the floor-why isn't anyone helping me with this bullshit job-type of painter. I tend to push the paint into the surface a tad.

Your new floors do look nice by the way. ;)

I used to date a guy whose parents lived next door to Jackson Pollock in New York. They said he was egregiously pussywhipped. His wife would yell at him and he'd go into the garage and throw paint at canvases. True? I have no idea.

I had pretty good luck with the splatter guard. I only had one oopsie, and that's when I was pushing the plunger aggressively to see how far it would go. I really should have done that part over the tarp.

Glad it worked out for you, Stoaty.

The first Paintstick I bought I spent about 3 hours trying to get all the paint out of it before it dried. (I hate to paint, I despise paint prep, but most of all I loathe cleaning up the painting aftermath.)

The next weekend it just wouldn't work, the roller was clogged and I blew out the seals in the handle trying to force the paint out. The resultant paint is still on the floor and walls in my garage; I call the piece "Jackson Pollock is a Pussy"

Now I just buy a new one and chuck it when I'm done.

EW1(SG)- I found that the roller shield got in the way, and if you pushed too hard on a full roller, it squeegeed that paint onto your head. I chuck the roller shield too.

Huh. I'll have to check it out. The next step is a thorough clean. I'll get professional help (in oh, so many ways)...but the less of a shit-hole the house is to start with, the better.

OMG I LOVE the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser!!! It makes cleaning the house SO much fun! My dog's coat generates oil like you wouldn't believe, so there are black smears on the walls against which she likes to lie, and the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser makes those spots disappear...like magic!

(This has been an unpaid product endorsement. Those of you who are not obsessive-compulsive will probably not experience orgasmic joy upon cleaning the walls in your house.)

You know what else I love? Cleaning commercials. You know, like the ones where they go in the heavily mildewed bathroom, and one swipe leaves it glistening clean again? I never get tired of watching that. It's just so satisfying.
