Oooooooooh!! I am SO GLAD that Stoaty herself said “said the woman,” because it just dawned on me that in theory someone might stumble on this blog at this end and start reading without having read any of the recent posts! I came back too late to fix my error, but I guess I wasn’t the first to spill the beans!

Frit–pay her no heed on the subject of the backstory. Having just finished perusing the complete sweasel chronicles I can tell you that they are an incredible delight! You start with a piece of knowledge none of her minions had in February 2007–and as it slowly dawns on you that they are clueless, you will have a rousing good time. Then comes the day when the secret is revealed. . .

Geez, Stoaty, you ought to publish this blog as a NOVEL.

Holy cow, Frit! I couldn’t believe it when I saw this thing pop up over Uncle B’s shoulder.

There’s some really, really stupid posts, if you go all the way back (said the woman who posted a blurry picture of elderberries tonight). Oh, and a horrible dark period when my cat disappeared (no, he never turned up again).

I try not to run around the ‘net playing Obnoxious Atheist, but that guy hit the Angry Button, lauraw. He was radiating exactly the arrogance he was being critical of in others. After a couple of posts in the thread, though, I began to feel churlish for being there. And then the Wuzza’s exchanged Valentine wishes and I felt like a right shit and slunk off.

This is pretty much the permanent site now, except if I break it. Which I’m sure I will, from time to time. Lots of complaints on the WP.org forums about stuff breaking when they went to version 2.1. I don’t use many plugins and a lot of my stuff is hard-coded, so it’s simple…I’m hoping to avoid some of the trickier problems.

But I’ve just noticed the date (but not the time) has disappeared on my first post, but not my second. Stuff like that makes me howling crazy. Computers are machines. And machines are supposed to be consistent.
