Well, that went better than expected
No, really. She growled and hissed and tensed like a guy wire on a suspension bridge, but no swipe at him. He’s been around three days, and she’s okay as long as she can’t actually see him. She’s hiding in the back of the house right now.
Last time I took a kitten in, she wouldn’t let me near her for a year. She let me feed her, though. She’s good like that.
Good weekend, folks!

See, even as a kitten, he radiates Tomcat. Buster, the little orange F-14.

Not exactly. I have footage of the moment Charlotte met Damien. He was tiny, and he puffed out and backed her down the kitchen. An asshole, that beautiful little boy.
Buster just looked kind of hurt.
Stupid weasel — forgot to credit picture. Actually, they don’t credit the picture, either, but at least I can point to where I stole it from.

If Buster’s smart the second meeting will go more like Damien’s, yes.

For a moment I thought that Sweasel had an Owl!
Can someone post me some baby Squirrels please? I’m having a shit fight with DOC here, and have threatened to introduce Squirrels to New Zealand in a blatant act of Bioterrorism!
To do this, I need Your help!
Will to trade Squirrels for NZ native bats http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Zealand_lesser_short-tailed_bat

Well, dang, Sweasey…just – dang!
I’ve been super-busy (day-job heated up week before, big push on, major-league hours till today for nearly two weeks.
Then, I check back in here, find your posts about the new Ginger in town – and I look at that color photo, and – dang. He’s a real knockout, that one, a real peacheroo…
As to name – I used to follow a comic strip (which became an animated feature-length flick, etc. – but that’s another bundle of fur…) called “Garfield”, mostly about the misadventures of a fat, lazy, sarcastic, lasagne-loving tomcat – which had a kitten show up, all fuzz ‘n buzzes ‘n cute as a BUTTON!!. Looked just about like a dead-ringer for your new little guy.
You could do a lot worse than his name: Nermal.
Anyway – good-lookin’ little guy, to the max.
BTW – cool picture up above, here. I haven’t seen a full-on Raptor Aggressor wingspread like that, I think, since a visit to the Alaskan Raptor Center years ago. Impressive.

Vita chicken does that when Charlotte gets too close. She’s the bottom of the pecking order, you may recall…the shyest and most retiring of birds. But, man, can she put on a display when something Not Of The Flock gets near her.

Introducing the Brush-tailed Tree Rat to Kiwiland? They’ll bloody hang you! And so they should.

I was wondering how that would go, I remember Charlotte not being social.

Did the outside cat (Abso?) cross over to the other side? Maybe you told us before, but I don’t remember.

Yeah, Asbo (from the acronym for Anti Social Behavior Order, a police citation for being a thug). He vanished about six months ago. No one knows for sure what happened, but we’re a tight knit little community and somebody would’ve seen if a car got him.
Miss him muchly.

I hope Buster brings great joy to Badger House. Kittens are the best toy ever.
