For a while, I could get around the ban on checking personal email from work by using a telnet connection and Lynx to access webmail. But then my ISP changed their login from a straight HTML link to a JS button and I couldn’t get in any more.

Drinking game: for every one of the above concepts you thoroughly grokked, take a drink. Then you’ll be right where I am at the moment.

Sorry for my absence, I can tell y’all are jonesing for a good Ragering.

Right up Weasel’s alley, I discovered the joy of making an Epson V700 work more or less properly. I may have to purchase some aftermarket medium format film holders, but for now the output is reasonably magnificent.

I also discovered the joy of 4800 dpi scans of 6×4.5 film and then promptly discovered the joy of NOT ENOUGH COMPUTER, so I decided to discover the joy of 3200 dpi scans of 6×4.5 film. Which are adequate. But most likely still too big to put through my lab’s order kiosks.

Dammit.

Now I suppose I’ll have to re-discover the joy of resizing images in Photoshop.

So how’s everybody else been?

My hiking buddy and I planned out a day’s trek while sitting in front of our separate window fans. We thought, “eh. This heat isn’t too bad.”

When we met up later at the trailhead, we were like, “HOLY SHIT we’re sweating like peegs and we haven’t even started!”

We managed to spend three or four hours trudging around the woods…but we were sure filthy, smelly specimens when we limped back to our cars.

Just got back from riding my motorcycle to Denver and back. Got royally roasted, and a new forest fire appears to have started in the mountains between Denver and Castle Rock. Hope they jump on it quick, before it grows.
