Chinese aren’t supposed to have problems with Ls and Rs – that’s supposed to be a Japanese issue, because the two vowels are the same.

And yes, Gregory is my real name. So is Kong. Jiang Zemin is my cousin (same surname, same generation name). Not that he’s in favour with the current ChiCom Politburo.

Thank YHWH the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that my parents didn’t name me George. With my size… shoot, I’d never hear the end of that stupid nursery rhyme.

I hope you’re a native English speaker, Gregory. That, or ‘Gregory’ isn’t your real name. Otherwise, that’s a pretty cruel burden. Uncle B used to import curry powder from a nice Chinese woman named Margaret who struggled mightily to speak her own name.

On the narrow question of what went down in South Ossetia, I’m agnostic. On the broader geopolitical question, I come down hard and heavy on Georgia’s side. I think we have sincere friends in the Eastern Bloc, and Russia under Putin is the same long letter full of bad news it’s always been.

Chinese all over the world (ethnic, citizen or otherwise) have a large-sized ego and superiority complex – I should know, I am one after all. All for Western culture and civilisation, I am, and hoping for democratic China, I am also. Type like Yoda, I do not – Yoda doesn’t type…
