Day 3 – wishful thinking, probably

Probably not. While April was unusually warm and pleasant, we’re predicted cold and windy for the beginning of May.

If we get a nice day, I’d like to hit a few gardens. There are still some stately homes inside our day-trip range that we haven’t visited. It’s peak time for bluebells in the woods and the rhododendrons are just coming into play.

Or, you know, pizza and shoot-’em-ups. It’s all good.

Seems we are all speechless, stunned by the elegance of that image. Or summat.

By the way, many happy returns of the day (whenever it actually falls), Swease!

As it turned out, it was sunny and warm and blowing an unseasonable gale. Solid windy for three days. I reckon we had gusts of 60mph today.

So, no. No bikini.

We’re getting a bit of a heatwave here in eastern Canada…supposed to go up to 31C (87.8F) on Friday…never get that in May…July maybe, not May.

We didn’t get any spring…went straight from dismal cold winter to stinking hot summer.

I’ve already had my window air conditioner going…hope it isn’t crazy hot all summer.

Gee Ms. Weasel,
I didn’t realize you were so influential in GOP circles.
I’ll have to be much more respectful of you.

Yes, chikkens sneeze. They also — little known fact — fart.

That chook is a Sussex, BTW.

Ooh, I remember
That rich, windy weather
When you would carry me,
Pockets floating in the breeze.

I’m going to ecommend a shoot-em-up you’ve probably never heard of: The Good, the Bad, and the Weird.

It’s basically a Korean take on spaghetti Westerns, set in Manchuria circa 1930 – the Wild East, more or less. Three rival Korean gunmen (the titular three) are all after a map to a lost Qing dynasty treasure. So are the Japanese Army and a Mongol horde.

The movie starts with a spectacular train robbery, continues through foot, horse, car, and motorcycle chases, and fist, knife, and gun fights, weaves in various baroque plot complications, and climaxes in a three-way shootout under a blazing sky to thundering guitars.

Enormous fun, really.
