Mmmmmmmmmmm. I love rain. We get so very little of it in the desert so every time it happens it deserves a break to go look at it for a while.

Poor Enas. You should move to the People’s Democratic Socialist Republic of Illinois. The politics suck, but the weather is wonderfully varied.

Enas. Dude. You live in the *desert*. And crave the *dessert*.

Okay. It’s late and I’ve been drinking.

On a happier note, I drove to Fall River today and toured Lizzie Borden’s house, which is now a B&B. I’ve been meaning to do that since before it was a B&B.

And when I got home, my dessicated old father called me up to tell me how OVER THE MOON he is about Sarah Palin. I can’t believe how many pundits I love and respect have got this one wrong. The ‘winger army is Reagan/Thatcher PSYCHED about this woman. She has plenty of running room to let us down, but I just have…a very good feeling.

You can hold me to that.

O Weasel, fluffy of tail, hear my prayer: pleasepleaseplease make the graphic of “Vote Sarah Palin (and that old guy)” available for permitted stealingses? Pleeeeeeze? Wanna put it on my blog, I do. (deposit chocolate-chocolate chip cupcakes with buttercream frosting and sprinks on altar)

bad cat, I do believe the ‘fluffy one’ encourages the taking of the graphics. Last time she mentioned it was after posting B.O. shooting monkeys and things out his ass. (though, I would make sure to give proper credit)

What I wanna know is..did they clean up the bloodstains in Lizzy’s house or leave them so they can charge more money? What about the cutlery/axe, is it on display?

Bad cat robot, you’re welcome to steal anything in the place. The problem, as I’m sure you’ve divined, is that it’s mostly in black and white. I thought about making a color version of that one. Would that do? Or does anyone have an alternative suggestion for a Palin bumpersticker…?

PnB, most of the interesting stuff is long gone. When I first drove past it, it was the storage building attached to a printing company. It’s been a B&B for about 15 years. The woodwork and doorknobs are original though. I touched them 🙂

Oh, and the axe is a big question mark. They found a hatchet with hair and blood on it in the basement, but they later decided it was probably animal blood. It wasn’t a good fit for the wounds and wasn’t very compelling evidence at the trial.

If I don’t take a bath on the house, I’m thinking of staying there for a night before I leave for Jolly Olde. The guest room — this room:

is $250 a night, with two meals.

Brrr, I couldn’t do it. The bad karma or whatever might decide to hitch a ride. Lovely room though. I’m liking that head/footboard muchly.

Whose behind is that towards the camera? A dead person? The muslim maid? Someone looking under the bed for body bits? An apparition climbing back under after making croutons of the last weasel who thought it would be nifty to sample the Borden air?

Abby Borden. She was making the bed when somebody whapped her upside the head. She fell into that position, and the same somebody lifted her by the neck of her blouse and whapped the back of her head 17 more times. I think it was eighteen total.

So it wasn’t forty whacks, but it was a damn nasty mess. Slowly count to eighteen and think what smacking somebody with a hatchet that many would be like. Brrrr.

They’ve managed to find a bed and dresser that look a whole lot like the originals (nobody knows what happened to the original furniture).

Eighteen hits? Eighteen hits and everybody cries “murder”. Hell, accidents happen.

All this quickness to make decisionses.

Now, 19 hits, now we’re getting out of my comfort zone.

Oh yeah, I forgot why I came here… I posted the new puppy pics today – forget all the BS in the post and scroll down to the good stuff.

The suspense is killing me, LK! Who’s it gonna be?

It’s killing me, too, Weas!

I love ’em all and while I favor Zana and Zuko, I’m going to do the hard thing and trust the breeder’s opinion (75% them, 25% me/us) because I want to make sure that the right temperament dog gets a home with us. I shudder at the thought of turning a dog who lives for herding into a family dog or vice-versa.

Kind of like “if mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy”, a happy dog has a huge influence on a family. I think dogs are one of God’s gifts to us (to balance out mosquitoes, I think) and it ought to be equitable.

But yeah, the suspenders are killing me, too. Soon. Two more weeks, I think.

Yar! I just made my first ever donation to a political campaign. Sadly, McCain’s site didn’t have a slot for comments, but it did ask who referred me. So I typed in

Sarah Mooseburger Awesomeness Palin.

Heh heh.

If anecdotal evidence is consistent, choosing Palin has been a financial windfall for the McCain campaign.

I might go and donate as well.

That pic is of Abby Borden? Before or after she got whacked? Where’s the splatter?

Comment from S. Weasel
Time: September 1, 2008, 4:32 am

After. Not so much splatter as puddle:

One of the frustrating things about looking back at the Borden case is how lousy the standard of investigation was back then. You can find next to nothing about splatter, for example. Nothing that would help an armchair weasel 100 years later figure out what the hell happened, anyhow. Which is why there are still active persons studying the case (and Jack the Ripper and so on). Why not? There’s so much room for speculation.
