The case for the prosecution rests, M’lud

robin3

Sorry. Got jammed up tonight (if you’re impressed with the post I didn’t post, you should see the work I didn’t work!).

I leave you with this iconic image and remind that the avian asshole on the right is a European robin and the poor birdie on the left is an innocent blue tit. I’m telling you, they’re a menace. A tiny, beautiful menace.

Teehee! Blue tit!

Seems like a bit of a metaphor for something, can’t think of it off the top of my head though…

This could be the latest Pest From The West. No wait, that’s your next snow storm. I love the names y’all give them, that wonderful “Boaty McBoatface” English sense of humour. Can’t wait to see what names they’ll pick if fog ever rolls in from France.

The weather wienies over here named our latest snow event Quinn. Which is rather lame, but it’s dumping a lot of snow on us here in the NE right now. So more trees and power lines to fall, but not as much coastal flooding this time. Or not. Wait and see.

Oh come on now, Drew458. They obviously chose the name for that storm from the Dylan song performed by Manfred Mann.

Must be some storm acomin’

A cat’s meow and a cow’s moo to you, know I could recite them all
Just tell me where it hurts you, honey, and I’ll tell you who to call
Nobody can get no sleep; you know there’s someone on everybody’s toes
When Quinn the Eskimo gets here everybody’s gonna wanna doze

Oh come all without, come all within
You’ll not see nothing like the mighty Quinn
Come all without, come all within
You’ll not see nothing like the mighty Quinn

“The Mighty Quinn” Bob Dylan

When that storm arrives, there’s gonna be blue tits everywhere.

Oddly, Quinn has deposited less than half a foot here in New York’s Capital Region. So much for the weatherguessers.

Like raccoons and orcas, we call them “thugs in tuxedos”. Orcas are called killer whales for a reason, and a small raccoon can shred a large dog. Our avian thugs here are the jays.

If it please the court m’lud.
My client was raised by migratory birds from Spain m’lud.
‘e and ‘is family are refugees from the ‘orrahs of a Spain rued over by da worst sort of fascist dicktaturship for generations.
Dey neveah ‘ad much, but one fing dey did ‘ave was family m’lud. The only life deese poor chaps ‘ave ever known is one of depriviatiation and lookin out for dere family.
So’s when dey finally are free to make dair way ‘ere to our lovely and generous land, dey are set upon by a bunch of tits parading around in a most lewd fashion, makin a mockery of dere treasured morals and beliefs.
I fink you will agree m’lud, dis lad was driv to take dis action to protect ‘is family from a bunch o lewd and licivious tits.
‘is family m’lud, dee most sacred fing he eveah ‘ad.

I would plead wif m’lud and the crown prosecutah to dismiss dis case, and in turn moi client promises neveh to be photographed in an evidential sort of way, doin ‘arm to tits what offends ‘is family again.

Red whomping Blue sounds like the coming civil war on the West side of the Pond. Hive dwellers had better be VERY worried…

I seen our American robins to the same thing. They really are bullies.

In a tree by the river a little tom-tit
Sang Willow, tit-willow, tit-willow
And I said to him, “Dickie bird, why do you sit
Singing Willow, tit-willow, tit-willow.
Is it weakness of intellect, Birdie,” I cried
“Or a rather tough worm in your little inside?”
With a shake of his poor little head he replied
“Oh willow, tit-willow, tit-willow.”

Strutting their stuff! Amazing colors and the feathers are astoundingly beautiful. For some reason the last two leggy creatures remind of Linda Evangelista and Naomi Campbell at the top of their game.
