I always hated the ‘be patient’ part

I wanted them to interact through the cage for a few days so they could get used to each other in safety, but little Noname escaped this morning.

When big cat isn’t around, I can coax the kitten out to play, but they’re at the point of the intercat relationship where they sit three feet apart and scream at each other. Funny, big cat has a little high pitched voice and little cat has a deep growl.

Anyway, home late tonight. That will have to do. We’re getting there!

I trust you’re pronouncing that
No-nam-eh in honor of Famous Amos.

Stoaty, I’m with you on the “patience” part. I’m reminded of a quasi-military patch I’ve seen a few times with two vultures perched on a branch. One is saying to the other, “Patience, my ass! I’m gonna kill something!”

While you’re waiting for the bonding, a major time-suck; Old Book Illustrations with a searchable data base…it is glorious.

Here’s my patience story. I have a cat that is just venturing out of the safe room after *five years*. She was so pissy early on that a tiny girl kitten was convinced she was psycho about 6 months after she came in and started bullying her, even though the bully was about half her size. It is hard to blame the younger cat – this cat is definitely psycho. She was a victim of abuse from a new kid, then dumped in an open air shelter with 25 other cats. She lived in a small square under a flower there from what I could see.

She started wanting to come out recently, and staked out a tiny patch between the bathroom sinks as her spot and was staying there 24/7 for a bit. I put a litter tray and food nearby, but eventually she got so spooked by other cats that she quit going the four feet to the box so it is back to the safe room for nights now. But hey, it is progress.
