5 hours and 23 minutes and 44 seconds of a single guy answering questions about World War I and/ or World War II ships.

He has two or three short programs every week and once a month or so he does a -minimum- of an hour answering questions. He does entertain counter-factual scenarios though which expands his turf somewhat. I would speculate that he easily has a couple of thousand hours of material on YouTube.

His voice is quite soothing. Why, no, he’s not a current or former member of the Navy. Why do you ask?

Oh: zero politics.

They natter like that because they’re all little narcissists that love the sound of their own voices. One of the sucky things about still being in a technical field that is changing and you have to keep up with is that almost everything is tutorials on YouTube now, nobody writes anything anymore.

…and a lot of them are just like that…they natter about pointless crap for 20 minutes before they actually get to the subject you went there for, grrrrr.

It probably makes them more money if they keep you there longer and shovel more ads at you…must be *some* reason for it.

Yes, I can just see the CO (General, Colonel, Major, whatever officer) snapping to attention at that order and instantly complying!

Almost immediately they disappear it, and replace the link with a story about her Ladyness Dr Jill Biden going over and visiting the poor dears in the austere mountains and valleys of the Hindu Kuwashington Mall, keeping us all safe from “insurrectionists”.
She’s so brave and awesome and we’d never claim she was using the troops as a photo op background.

I cannot recommend deleting Twitter enough. It is naught but a wretched hive of scum and villainy. Take up crochet or knitting! Or both! Nifty skills where you can make actual useful stuff in your spare time!

I agree that tea cozies, balaclavas, scarves and mittens are nice…but moar time in Shadowlands is what is needed.

Yeah, for video to be worth watching, it’s got to be very, very snappy. (Podcasts are a permanent nonstarter for me since they don’t have captioning.) I could read the transcript probably 100x faster than watching a video. Can’t understand how anyone has the patience to sit around watching those things. I can’t stand television anymore unless I’ve got something to do with my hands.

Reddit. They have terrible self-owns like fingering the wrong guy for the Boston Marathon and doxxing him (but they forever parody themself for that), but it’s 50% chaotic and 50% ads, instead of the ratios for HateBook and Twatter.
Also, they just led the charge on the GameStop stock price thing and you can join in that kind of fun.
Until the big Tech companies neuter them, of course.
