This is cool!
No, no…not VR this time. Well, kinda, but not *my* VR.
I was searching YouTube for a version of Hungarian Rhapsody (yes, I’m that bored. I must be getting better) and I found this guy’s channel. He plays piano, and the music unspools above him like a glowing player piano roll.
Seriously, go look. It explains itself. Start with a piece of music you know well and then try one you don’t. I almost feel like I could read the notes after a while.
I failed badly at piano lessons. People who can read music are witches, simple as that.
I tried to work out how he does this. He mentions at one point that his LEDs had failed him, but I think the stuff at the top is post-production voodoo. He linked to a friend’s channel who does the same thing, but on a much smaller scale.
I’m kind of hypnotized by it, to be honest.

And I can understand the hypnotic effect.
Clair de Lune, one of my all time favorites (after giving up Wagner π)
and I can see my finger placement learning from an app is mostly ALL WRONG. they play waaaaaay up next to the keyboard backpanel and my clunky fingers hit 3 notes at a time up there.

That’s pretty neat.
I’m glad you feel more better Stoaty. We made it through cold and flu season and into allergy season fairly unscathed in the pupster household, the fear and social pressure from the rona and to get the jab makes every sniffle and cough seem like a big deal.

A question for you wordle people: Am I supposed to be seeing letters and words in your comments? All I see are little squares of various colors and sizes, and I’ve looked with multiple browsers including on my phone (Android/Opera).

You are seeing the correct representation of the solution.
The code is
(1) how many guesses it took to solve (if solved);
(2) how many correct letters or numbers in the correct position combined with correct letters or numbers in the wrong position: green, black and purple with wordle using yellow instead of purple and blank for black, for each guess;
(3) the results if solved before the allotted guesses expire or, like me, how much of a dumbass I am for guessing out of frustration.
But yes, the blocks are meant to keep any observer from seeing the solution.
