Get me down!

Pretty high up for a fat boy. Most of the time, a cat picture like this actually a cat caught mid-yawn, but our lad there really was screaming at me.

He’s a talky boy, is our fat black-and-white. He’s shouting at me to get him down – not because he’s scared, but because he likes us to lift him down off high places. We call it playing tree.

And while I was searching for that post, I found this post of him as a lad, before he had the snip.

I also learned that 13 years ago, this blog was the number one hit on Google Images for “cat testicles.” Sadly, I’m not even on the first three pages any more.

Don’t google it. You will see things you can never unsee.

In my single days, my last cat was named NoNuts. It always cracked me up when the vet would send reminders to NoNuts in the mail. My future wife didn’t see the humor, so I changed his name to Punk. Which he very much was. Tuxedo cats are just aloof punks.

Congratulations, Mme. Ermine! This article from June 2007 is #6 in DuckDuckGo’s results when you search for “booger haiku”.

I haven’t tried a search for “1957 Plymouth Belvedere Buried Car” yet.

Did you ever get yourself a nice fringed buckskin jacket before emigrating?

Looking at those well-aged articles and comments is great fun.

Mrs D refuses to have anything to do with male cats, nuts, or no nuts.

Pretty smart cat, who can train the girl to “play tree.” Maybe you can engineer a cat slide for him.

There is a cat-shaped hole in the world of Casa Mitch tonight. I had to give away my sweet Prudence to a kind woman who will try to make her a new home amongst her own menagerie. We are moving to Florida and I could not keep her.

Oh, Mitch, I’m so sorry. But my first conclusion when you mentioned “cat-shaped hole” was that he had died. At least it’s not that.

Some days I hate social media for that – all the people mourning the pet they just had to have put down today.

I just realized why that picture tickled me:

Beware: more than one link in a comment is apt to earn you a trip to the spam filter, where you will remain -- cold, frightened and alone -- until I remember to clean the trap. But, hey, without Akismet, we'd be up to our asses in...well, ass porn, mostly.
