Number three

Hey, check it out. I drove in behind Number Three this morning. In fact, I nearly drove right up Number Three’s backside trying to snap this picture. Cadillac deVille. Living well on my dime. I wonder who it is? I suppose Number One is the governor, and Number Two is the lieutenant governor, so Number Three is…the governor’s best friend? The head of the Registry of Motor Vehicles? Boy, I bet this guy can blow through all the red lights he likes.

Who are you?
The new Number 2.
Who is Number 1?
You are Number 6.
I am not a number, I am a free man.

I was in New Bedford again recently, and I ran into that same drunken bum (again) and he grabbed me by the collar (again) and said:

“Weasel, someday you’ll nearly ram a Three that’s really only one, and on that day a tree will go to it’s grave! But a carbon credit will rise and then disappear in a poof! of contrived debit within the hour , and all – all I say! – all will be wearing t-shirts!”

Then he blew lunch and passed out. The authorities were called, but I’d managed to disappear into the crowd by then.

I gotta stop going to New Bedford.

You know, it’s always a good idea to stay out of New Bedford. Or New Bedfid, as the natives call it. What natives were doing in New Bedfid, I have no idea…

Maybe you should go see the stewbum, ’cause I keep getting messages from him intended for you. I think his name is either Budweiser or Elijah.

New Bedfid. “Fid”. Fid. I can hear it.

I would make a clever reference to number 3 in the Prisoner but I can’t remember who it was or what he did. A stand in for Number 1 I think, but the show was so psychadelic and bizarre its hard to keep it straight.

I think Leeuwenhoek has you covered there, Christopher.

From what I read & remember about the series, even Patrick McGoohan(sp?) (no relation!) wasn’t sure how it was going to end until the last minute. And I think he was on acid most of the time while he was writing scripts. It showed.

I always wanted to ride that hi-tech teeter-totter camera/surveillance thingy the evil minions always rode on. Looked like fun.

Well sure, he’s got the requisite Prisoner post but what about number 3? Who was he? Or her? Did even the writers know? And how much LSD was involved in the writing?

That has to be the wierdest sequel ever conceived. That’s like following up Adam 12 with Twin Peaks.

Just wanted to say I love the blog.
Funny, insightful and it’s one of the nicest I’ve visited in terms of overall design.
I love the weasel pics.
Damn they’re funny little animals.
