It’s the Equinox, y’all!
Hoo boy, that illustration does not work in black and white at all. I stole it from this article. From the article:
The equinox happens at the same moment worldwide, although our clock times reflect a different time zone…Interestingly, due to time zone differences, there isn’t a March 21 equinox in mainland U.S. during the entire 21st century! We won’t see a March 21 equinox again until 2101.
I’m going to post that paragraph just as if I understood it.
It well and truly felt like Spring over the weekend, but we’re back to damp and miserable today and for the foreseeable.
Changing the subject, I enjoyed this video: man demonstrates the ten types of magic. This guy is a brilliant stop-motion animator, so that’s probably a clue. If you want to know how he did #10, it’s not the obvious. I watched it a bajillion times to work it out.

Spoiler: the shirt very gradually changes from blue at the beginning to blue-green at the end. He tweaks the hue steadily throughout the video. Because of the way it queues up, at the end of the video it jumps to a still frame at the beginning and it looks like a much more dramatic color shift.
The reason it took me a long time to work that out was the video kept hanging and I watched the timer go round and round for the damnedest long time.

Does stop-motion animation have anything to do with the changing color of the shirt?
I mean he’s not changing shirts at each iteration of a type of magic so he must be manipulating the hue of the shirt only in the raw video…

Yes, ExpressoBold, I think that’s what he’s doing. He must have made a mask for the t-shirt, though, because nothing else in the shot shifts color.

Harumphhh! Spring!! I think not in California…we got the shite kicked out of us again overnight…we have five more old multi-trunk river oaks down…including one from my favorite groupings…the right-hand leg of the “Big W” at the top of the drive. It made me smile every time I drove under it.
Amazing…there are so many talented people and wonders online that finding the gems makes wading through all the noise worthwhile.
