Charles has already said he isn’t going to have a hands-off approach to current events like his mother did. He intends to be an activist king, and Net Zero is his passion.
This is very bad news for the monarchy, though he clearly doesn’t know it yet. It’s on shaky ground with a lot of people as it is.
Can you imagine a whole country huddling in the dark in the cold eating bugs while a man in a jeweled hat sitting on a gold chair in a marble palace harangues them for their selfishness?

Quite seriously, I agree that an activist king is going to accelerate the end of the Monarchy. Damn near happened in Japan, don’t cha know.

I don’t have to cross the ocean to imagine what your new king will do.
Our king gives us plenty to imagine right now, and promises much more to come.
With even more coming after the machines make him king again in 2024.

Nothing like burning through the goodwill and feeling built up by his mother over 70 years of selfless service to the country. Although I’d have liked to see her refuse to sign the act that banned fox hunting to see what would have happened. The oleaginous Blair had the press mostly wrapped around his finger but I’d say the majority of the non-Westminster crowd would have been on her side. Might’ve been better to hit the spicy times before the country had been hollowed out.

I guess we can pray for his enlightenment, as small a thread as that seems to be. Sadly, his green tendencies have replaced religion in his life, and it will take a Revelation of some sort to change him. Prolly not gonna happen.

Some folks who claim to be “in the know re all things geopolitical” VERY confidently predicts this is going to be the shortest reign of any monarch evah. In fact, he says Charles will be the last English monarch.
