I love fruitcake. Claxton, a town near here, is known for its fruitcake which is shipped worldwide.
Entenmann’s made a good fruitcake, used to get it at Kroger’s, IIRC, but I don’t think they make it any more.
Of course there’s the various monasteries around the US that make & ship fruitcake.

My family had a fruitcake that was gifted back and forth amongst each member for over a decade- the same fruitcake, in the same wrapping- and I’m sure it was just as good the last time it was gifted as it was on the first. It eventually, mercifully, disappeared.

I like fruit cake but our family recipe is blonde, not black, and while I do wrap it and mist it regularly with booze I use orange liqueur (Cointreau).
