Testing, testing

Seeing if this fixes the STUPID pagination problem on STINKY OLD Internet Explorer.

Update: No, it doesn’t. What the hell is this bug? It just appears out of nowhere, shoves the main page below the right-hand sidebar for a few hours, then disappears again. I have IE at work, and it looked fine before I left. Meh.

On a related note…twenty two years of brain dead software: screen caps of all the Windows versions beginning with 1.01. I’m not sure if that’s where I came in, but we had a 1985 Windows machine. It drove our camera, I think.

Update: got it. Or it went away by itself. I put an

overflow:hidden;

tag in the CSS for the right sidebar just as it vanished, so maybe that did it. Good thing; I was just going to take up strong drink. As a last resort, that fixes everything. Now I can celebrate with a dram of spirits.

I went off tequila after the great Tequila Sunrise movement in the seventies. It is extremely offputting to upchuck grenadine red.

… the great Tequila Sunrise movement in the seventies.

Oh, my goodness. You remember that?

I rather thought that happened to those of us who lived in, on, or around The National Hippie Preserve™

Eugene! Wooo! Are you an Oregonian too, EW?

My dad was raised in Eugene, grams worked at U of O. It’s not really all purply like that. Eugene in my mind is the campus and that frog sculpture. I should find a pic of the city scape at night from Portland’s Rose garden, before they let big trees obstruct the view.

Damn Hippies

Yes, Oregonian through and through.

Mum and Da live a little east of Autzen, my first job was at the golf course in Creswell…but I spent many years working at Sacred Heart where me Mum was born. Remember Wolfgang Puck’s first restaurant? The Coburg Inn.

Cycled past a few time on my way to Grandma’s.

Lived in Portland several times. Was there when Mt St Helens went, later lived in Southeast, worked in Hillsboro; think my Aunt & Uncle…no, they’ve moved back to Eugene.

The tobacco fields here in So Maryland are scenic, but not the same as the Olympics or the Cascades.

Best fishes, which would be salmon or halibut! But best at Ivar’s on the sidewalk in Seattle!

/Speaking of which, why the hell is my younger cousin and his wife settled down in Boston? You think they know something about the future of the Weasel that I should?

Seattle…. Pike’s Place Market, Fisherman’s Wharf. Donno Ivar’s, alas- here on the coast we do seafood right, though. Can’t get a decent steak in town, but we’ve got scallops up to our ears.

Weasel’s going to be the first stoat to visit Jupiter. Tha†’s the only bit of his future that I can foresee.

Hmmm, fish and chips at Ivar’s just north of Coleman dock can’t be beat. Anywhere. Even given the Weasel’s Anglophilic tendencies.

And Pike Place…best Mexican food north of Los Angeles!

What coast are you on?

Mmmmm…scallops…all the ones I get come from China. They probably feed them on polyethylene and medical waste 🙁

Ugh. Last two batches of seafood that I got from China were 50% bad. Too bad even to use as fertilizer.

No more Chinese food for EW1. Except at Little Panda down the street, that is.
