As a matter of fact, yes — this *is* why I went to art school

And yes. I do feel better now. Thanks for asking.

As an actual constituent of Mr. Specter, Thank You. The image is actually an improvement of the old bugger, though. He looks worse in real life.

He looks awful at the moment, now that his Hodgkin’s is back and he’s on chemo. What’s he thinking, inviting this kind of shitstorm at this stage of his life?

Weasel! You’ve captured the very essence of the man and his new official affiliation!

Comment from Roman Wolf

It’s simple, he doesn’t think he’ll win the Republican Primary and he does think he can win the Democratic Primary. The man is a professional politician and only cares about himself, he doesn’t give a damn what’s coming out of his mouth as long as he’s in power.

Comment from Glenster
Time: April 28, 2009, 6:48 pm

The jackass actually said he “didn’t want his political legacy to be decided by Republican voters”! He has no shame, and that makes him a “good” politician. Bring on the term limits!

Comment from Gnus

He’ll fit in with the democrats much better anyways. Good riddance!

Comment from dfbaskwill
Time: April 28, 2009, 7:19 pm

I think the Dems will view him as their retarded (or challenged) third cousin. He isn’t really a Dem, not really a Repub, just a scared, sick, desperate, old little man who hasn’t had a job since the early 60’s. And he wants a “legacy”. (I on the other hand, don’t mind dying anonymously!)

one of the things that haunts me is that the last time Asshole Sphincter was up for election the radio pundits (Hugh Hewitt comes specifically to mind) urged Republicans to hold their noses and vote for him because of his position on the Judiciary committee.

This caught my attention, and I’ve been tracking his voting record since. Frankly this little pucker is the very essence of the term RINO…

Good riddance. I can’t imagine that Republicans have lost a single vote on any important issue that wasn’t gone anyhow.

It would be in poor taste to wish for any problems with his health, but I certainly can wish him hemorrhoids.. the dimples would improve his looks.

Comment from S. Weasel
Time: April 28, 2009, 9:25 pm

Peer pressure compelled me to “hold my nose” for Lincoln Effing Chafee. I voted. I hated myself. He lost. He switched parties.

On the other hand, I think the Dems will find Specter less than a little ray of sunshine. He’s not so much a leftist as a spoiler.

These maverick guys? They imagine themselves freethinkers, but they’re just jerks without an underlying political philosophy.

Comment from armybrat
Time: April 28, 2009, 9:49 pm

as I posted at GCP, this is only changing the letter behind his name. that worthless fucker (and that is the proper noun) has voted with the dems more than the repubs. He’s so far behind in the poles that it doesn’t matter what party he claims affiliation with. Thank God…..He’s dying!!!!!!!!! And those two worthless twits (snow and collins) might be well advised to pay attention to the voter outrage. Those two libtards are in the crosshairs. The lamestream media is lamenting the passing of a moderate. The conservative base…..and we ARE the republican party…are cheering the death of a RINO. McCain et al …..we’re setting our sights on youl.

Comment from Roman Wolf
Time: April 28, 2009, 10:12 pm

McCain and his crew on the whole I can easily tolerate(as I’d actually define him as a real Republican, just on the liberal wing of the party). Specter, Snow, and Collins? They really are RINOs.

Oh, and my prediction is Specter will lose the Democratic primary and attempt then to make a stand as an Independent. He’ll then lose to the Republican or the Democrat(probably the Republican).

Big loss for the GOP? Not really. Specter is a very unreliable vote and will be no better on the Democratic side.

Comment from armybrat
Time: April 28, 2009, 11:13 pm

Roman Wolf, I respectfully disagree. “McCain and his crew” are no different than specter, snow and collins.
Specter will win the dem primary as the only runner…..he sold his soul and the dem party will put him out as their only candidate. I predict he will loose the general election because the repubs already told him to fuck off. He always was a better dem than repub.

[…] ITEM: What is most telling about Arlen Specter’s party switch is not the move itself; it’s his blatant hypocrisy after denying such a switch just five weeks ago and proposing changes to Senate rules back in 2001 after Jeffords’ defection. But here’s the real kicker: Joe Biden talked him into the switch. It’s one thing to be persuaded by the charisma and rhetoric (if a teleprompter is handy) of Obama — but Joe Biden?  It doesn’t say much for Specter. Of course, neither does this. […]
