They would have to change the names of several cities in Mexico as well as an airport…and I don’t think they are as PC-conscious in Mexico as they are in other places (at least, not yet).

I know several Matamoroses in my neck of the woods. I’m surprised the professionally-shocked haven’t been agitating to have the name outlawed as a hate-crime in potentia. After all, it does mean ‘killer of Moslems’. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. If one were Latvian and had a name that meant ‘killer of Waffen SS’ or ‘gleefully beheads NKVD’ that would be cool too.

I thought slurry referred to any sort of goopy mixture, eg wet cement. I’d never heard it used as a synonym for barnyard effluent before. Those English with their words ad stuff!
