S'okay...I couldn't quite figure out how to spin a whole post out of it, so your link in the comments is as good as mine.

I love Rube Goldberg machines. In Britain they're called Heath Robinson, from their illustrator-who-made-impossibly-elaborate-machines. Funny thing...I knew Heath Robinson from his more serious illustrations, which were very good! I didn't know he did the machines...

Holy crap! Dawn and Enas, those videos were deeply disturbing. I need to go wash my brain out.

Steamboat, I think Shatner proved to be the exception -- after mediocre attempts in a couple of other TV series, he discovered that his talent for just being a silly caricature of himself was what people really liked.

Happy Sunday. Twelve minutes you'll never get back, but you won't mind (if you watch it all).

No, don't thank me.

That Nimoy segment has always sent shivers up my spine. Yecchh. I don't think I've ever watched the whole thing. The Apache guy is just...um....well, I'm sure he's a very nice person.

The 60's were a strange time.

I have noticed that the whole original Star trek cast had singularly unimpressive careers afterwards. The most interesting afterlife (to me) was Sulu's appearance in the two Oblivion flicks, which were quite amusing if you like looking at a young(er) Musetta Vander. I did.

Somewhere around here, I have a copy of Nimoy's autobiography, "I am Not Spock." He comes off as a whiny baby. He said the stress of playing an emotionless character was so great, he used to burst into tears between scenes.

Don't you get the impression these Star Trek folk thought they had fantastic careers ahead of them until Star Trek put a halt to everything? Instead of, you know, being the luckiest break in their whole damn lives?
