No, it's just that some of the MMORP"s out there are really beautiful.

I didn't realize until I was reading notecards last night that everything in the world but the ground and the basic figures was created by users. That's pretty amazing. But it would definitely come with a performance hit.

I don't think the graphics are that bad, considering I can fly about on my hotdog couch with 30K+ other people logged on in world. But maybe I'm not all that picky.

And yes there are some...er, interesting areas in SL, but I just stay away from those. I was helping a friend, who is a dwarf in SL, make a full blacksmith forge last night. Now how cool is that? In a geeky way of course.

Oh, and Weasel, you can also sell your stuff. Double cool.

That was my first reaction, Christopher. It wasn't nearly as pretty as other MMORPG's, and ditto on the creepy vibe. Here's what makes this one different (and probably why the graphics are bad): you can make stuff, and other people can see it and interact with it. That's a pretty extraordinary thing. There's a little scripting language you can use to give object behaviors, and simple 3D modeling tools.

The tools are pretty awkward to play with, too, but I'm intrigued with the idea.

And there are places you can stay to avoid creeps.

I thought about starting with a furry and trying to build a weasel, but then I thought...ugh. Furries. Stoaty *really* don't cotton to cosplay.

I'll drop you a line.

I've promised myself I'm only going to go there for an hour a day, tops. I can be badly obsessive about things. I got my stupid tutorial thing straightened out, finally, but I've only just started exploring. One of the first people I saw in the general population was wearing an enormous set of genitals on the outside of his pants.

At least, I think it was a him. But I believe it had breasts, as well.

Stoaty don't cotton to that kind of computer game. I think I'll stay in the PG areas.

You're right, it does. I guess people are shopping, cleaning, etc.

Let me know when you get back on SL weasel. I can show you around a bit.

I know. That's always been one of life's great mysteries. Internet traffic goes way down on weekends, and always has. Even before most people had work access (so it's not sheer goof-offery).

Me, I usually have more free time on weekends and bang around the Web trying to fill it. If it were Weaselworld, I'd update on weekends and leave the weekdays to take care of themselves.

But we are not yet in that blessed state of mustelidity, so why buck the trend?
