Yeah, I thought of the ad too. Just about anyone over a certain age in the US would I’d guess. Remember Uncle B. back in 84 when this ran Apple was virtually nobody and IBM was everything.

Where do we get off sending our best and brightest into a fierce battle and then seek to micromanage their weaponry? As long as they’re aiming at the opponent, who cares if it misses the mark slightly? The noise alone will frighten some out of their hiding.

Either we get dirty in the fray, get smart in the triangulations, and get ahead of the asymmetrical curve or we can stop with all the righteous indignation at those who would do so.

No wonder Breitbart took every opportunity to rally the punk-Republican kids. As he said, “they’ll dress up like pimps and prostitutes.”

“Stop raping people!” was outrageous. Far worse than, “slut.” He maligned the OWS crowd to their face. Purposefully.

I don’t expect a warrior, at home, to act like he’s in the middle of a fire-fight. I expect him to teach his children civility, plain speech, respect, and clear thinking.

PS – If you want some GOOD news from this week so far, a federal district court judge (4th Circuit) yesterday found the concealed carry law of the Peoples’ Republic of Maryland unconstitutional. Money quote from the ruling?

More damage is done by unnecessary apologies than any putative offence caused in the first place. If Limbaugh had stuck to his guns, how many real listeners would he have lost? The advertisers that pulled out are already suffering a backlash and will probably come to regret it. The genius of Breitbart was that he realised how much he could get away with. There’s a big difference between decency and being lily-livered.

What Rush apparently failed to stress is that the disparaging reference to her character is entirely based on her own testimony as to her annual expenditures for birth control which suggests promiscuity. Properly, it should be phrased as, “Is she a liar or a slut?” Thus, it is properly exposed that the one who raised the issue of her promiscuity is Ms. Fluke herself.

Of course none of that matters one whit, since the left and the media (but I repeat myself) will misinterpret and obfuscate to their hearts content to drive the desired narrative anyway!

I don’t think I saw the original ad IN 1984 (no TV), but there have been dozens of parodies.
