My fav

This is my favorite Obama Photoshop. Just before Obama delivered his State of the Union speech in January of 2010, perky Katie Couric tweeted this:

Just had lunch with the president who seems pensive, slightly deflated, realistic, aggravated and resolute. Didn’t eat his pie.

Somehow, that didn’t eat his pie thing just cracks me up.

Yeah, I know. I don’t usually post on weekend, but I thought I’d recycle some graphics. With any luck, I won’t need them again.

I think that was when the Obamacare fight was going on and it looked like he was losing.

I’m so sick of Bronco Bama 🙁

I’m going out on a limb (with fingers crossed that I’m not jinxing it) and saying that Romney takes this election in a walk. I’ve been paying attention to politics since Ford lost to that dumba$$ from Plains and every time they’ve told us that the Democrat was going to win easily.
This time they’re telling us it will be close. Bullshit. If O’No can win this election in this economy, the country is lost anyway.

I think so too, Dave. I’ve been badly wrong about two presidential elections in my lifetime. The first, I was pleasantly surprised (to say the least!) when Ronnie won. I was jes’ a little weasel then.

And second, I thought Bush would romp to victory in 2000. Seriously, after eight years of Clinton drama and up against the creepy Al Gore? How the hell was that such a squeaker?

It’s bonfire season, btw. Monday is Guy Fawkes Day, but our neighbors will be letting off fireworks from now until Christmas.

Somebody in the next village over put on a show an hour or so ago that seriously must have cost them thousands of pounds. Stupid posh village next door.

Weasel and Dave, from your comments to God’s ears. I think you’re right too, but like you am afraid of jinxing it.

I’ve always liked the idea of Guy Fawkes Day. A holiday involving gunpowder bombs and the execution of traitors. Very British.

Hopefully the fireworks were close enough to enjoy but not so close as to offend the poultry.

Traitors? They were all a bunch of toffs that did nothing but over-tax those who actually did the work and torture people who were accused of allegedly breaking the law. Except architecturally speaking, it would have been no lost if Fawkes would have blown the whole place up.

Could never happen in America. A plot to set a bomb off under Congress would elicit more cheers than boos.

Generally lost in observances is the fact the Gunpowder Plot was an attempt to topple the Protestant government and return to a Catholic one.

The city of Lewes in Sussex takes Bonfire Night ver-y seriously. Everyone locally allows them to have their night on the actual Fifth of November. They ask outsiders to stay away. And they insist on sticking with tradition and burning an effigy of the Pope.

Seventeen Protestants were executed there back in the day. It’s amazing how long people hold grudges.

If, God willing, Romney is elected in a few days, Obama will still be around and force himself into the news as much as possible. He’ll be the go-to guy to criticize Romney for every single act, and the press will fawn on his great experience and wisdom.

Didn’t eat his pie reminded me of Shemkia Copelands lead-off track on 33 1/3, her newest album, titled ‘Lemon Pie for the Poor’.

“I hope you weren’t expecting more
than an itsy-bitsy teeny-weeny piece
of Lemon Pie for the poor.”

Of course, since I have a job, and pay taxes, I’m not poor, so no pie for me!

Nahh. I’m sure that even after he moves out of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, that Barry will still continue to speak from his loins. I wouldn’t flush anything just yet.
