Well, Round 55 was a short round

Zo! Dissent555 takes the dick with Joan Fontaine. 96. Her sister Olivia deHavilland is older by a year, so she should be a prime pick next time around.

Lots of people dying at the moment, but it doesn’t count if they fall between Dead Pools. Which I’m sure would make a huge difference to them, if they knew.

I’m just grateful for the break. Oh, the Christmas cards that need writing! The tree that needs trimming! The booze that needs drinking!

Everybody back here Friday. 6WBT. Dead Pool Round 56!

Hey!
I predicted this months ago … when the US Navy denied it!

http://www.turnerradionetwork.com/news/99-pat

I would appreciate the recognition … and of course, the ongoing body count will clog up the dead pool for some time!

It is somewhat Ironic that Oceania cares more for your naval personnel safety than the Department of the Navy …. irony indeed!

And for some strange reason a desperate need to assuage a burning nay incinerating desire for a handful of deviled eggs and a pound of potato salad. Why this need is striking at this time and in this way is frankly beyond me.

Oh and maybe some rye toast with deviled ham and an egg over easy on top. Which in retrospect sounds pretty nasty but I’d scarf one down right now if I had the chance.

Another DP favorite has slipped between the cracks…Ronnie Biggs caught the last train and can’t get picked…sorry AltBBrown.

Fun fact, De Haviland and Fontaine had a long-running feud. A particular fitting tidbit in that regard comes from a ’78 interview with the deceased: “I married first, won the Oscar before Olivia did, and if I die first, she’ll undoubtedly be livid because I beat her to it!”

Yeah. Wonder how that worked out, in the event.

I picked De Haviland in the last DP…I guessed the wrong sister. I figure the bitterness will favor her going next so she can carry one the feud in Hell…it’ll be a battle here at 6pm Friday for the witch.

I would just like to say I’m happy nobody won with Peter O’Toole.

That’s who I want to be when I grow up.

Larry Lujack has passed. http://abclocal.go.com/wls/story?section=news/local&id=9365711
.
Who’s Larry Lujack, you ask? Chicago morning drive deejay from back in the day (1970s) who’s famous for “animal stories”.

What’s “animal stories”? Well .. back in the day, government mandated the clear channel stations dedicate a certain amount of time for “agricultural news” .. and previously, WLS had just read the hog prices out of Joliet.

Larry and his sidekick Tommy found amusing stories about animals – the lolcats of the day – and read those instead of the hog prices… and it was wildly successful.

Anyway, he’s dead now .. in between dead pools.
