Such a bright looking lad
London barber posts pic of Kim Jong Un under the headline “Bad Hair Day?” gets visit from Nork embassy goons. Both sides reported to to police. Nothing will come of it.
I love the Kims. I mean, I don’t, obviously — they’re vile and horrible tyrants. But I love the way they confirm my theory that no checks and too much praise invariably turns humans into monsters.

Yes, indeed! Negative object lessons are quite handy, and the NORK’s Kims fill the bill really, really well.
And about that praise. It is remarkable what kind and amount of praise is forthcoming when the praisee can threaten execution by mad dogs or flamethrower and make good on the threat.

Your rendering reminds me of Zippy the Pinhead.
Wish I didn’t remember that awful comic, but there it is.

Wonder Warthog. Now there was a comic.
As for the Kim dynasty, you just know that’s gonna end badly.

Oh gawd, Zippy and W. Warthog. I thought those memories were safely stashed away w/ R. Crumb, Suzy Creamcheese, and The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers. Ah, the 60’s, hashish, patchouli, optional bathing…

The obvious question:
Were the diplomats from the North Korean Embassy all sporting Kim haircuts??

Nope. The barber specifically noted that they were not.
You have to wonder what those guys are thinking, don’t you? I mean, they live in London, they know the Nork propaganda is bullshit.

Oh no, StB, I actually have one now with the similar habit of leaving presents in my shoe when he’s displeased with me. Haven’t caught him reading the paper while sitting on the catbox, though… or am I confusing him with another comix kitty? [Ack!]

What about “Reid Fleming, World’s Toughest Milkman”. Loved that guy…

Aw, c’mon, folks – I have some rather…er…sorta-fond memories of ’60s (and early-’70s, as well, oh my…) comix/cartunes – ‘specially the ones from the ol’ L.A.Free Press days. I mean, nobody who experienced that era first-hand should ever completely let the memories die of The Fabulous Furry Freak Bros., Fat Freddy’s Cat, Zippy, Mr. Natural, Wavy Gravy, R.Crumb – even if only as “fair warning” to later generations of “graphic artistry” (Keeds!! Don’t You Dare Try Any ‘O This S**t At Home!! Extreeme Dangerr, Will Robinson!!…)
What I mean, that was High Art!! – in every sense possible, and to the greatest extent legally permissible. Talk about your Freedom Of Speech…

Hmmm-m-m…somehow missed that one – thankee kindly, gotta go do some research on that…
Li’l Kimmie does, indeed, greatly resemble another of Zippy The Pinhead‘s progeny (he had, IIRC, a couple of them that appeared, along with him and his wife, in the old comix), especially in that rendering above – good job, Ms. Sweasey, it fits well with his apparently small-brained/large-egoed public persona.
