Could we, maybe, talk about this sometime?

December 6 is Finnish Independence Day and, apparently, it’s not uncommon for marches and demonstrations to happen alongside the celebrations. This year’s fun and games, though, did €100,000 worth of damage to businesses.

Here’s the thing, though: the article above goes into great detail about what was damaged and where and how the shopkeepers will get it back together for Christmas shoppers. It says absolutely jack about who the protesters were and what they’re agitating for.

Beyond labeling them as “left wing anarchists”. And this picture, which appears to say FUCK CAPITA. I seriously doubt Finnish anarchists are unhappy about the British personnel firm Capita. It seems unlikely our scholar will have room to spray FUCK CAPITALISM in the space provided. But, really, FUCK CAPITAL doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. Whatevs.

Who are these people? We’ve had protests in the UK and the US and all over Europe, with millions in damages. The last ten years? Twenty? They were the core of the Occupy protests and the London riots. There are always signs from the Socialist Workers Party and similar socialist orgs. Lots of Anarchist symbols. We know they are turning up in Ferguson (and muddying up their nice race riots). And, really, wherever there’s trouble in the streets.

It’s bizarre that nobody seems to give a shit who they are or what they want (which makes what they’re doing utterly ineffective, other than to throw a pinch of sand under the wheels of the mighty juggernaut of Western Commerce).

Is it a homogeneous group? Is it just stupid local kids attracted to violence? Or is somebody bankrolling this stuff, and to what purpose?

I know lefty journalists (which is most of them) are blinded by their allegiances, but even they seem completely uninterested in digging into this phenomenon. And we do have a few righty journalists.

C’mon, guys — this shit is creepy and it’s costing us money.

These idiots are obviously spooning for some “bad luck”, as so many good anarchists are wont to do.

“Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

This is known as “bad luck.”

In 2013 I happened to be in Switzerland in Basel and was surprised to see many instances of the anarchist symbol spray painted on houses and walls. I thought either the people there didn’t know what that symbol was or just plain didn’t care. Very sad and disturbing either way.

I’ve heard some talk that the Russians are behind it…Putin wants a do-over of the 20th century.

From the days of the Nixon Watergate circus, the Church Commission and subsequent legislation prohibits the CIA from spying on US Citizens. The FBI is supposed to do it.

You mean the disaffected children of the upper middle class who have recorded all their actions on the latest Apple product? The predominately white 20somethings whose parent are working to provide all the necessities these ingrates need, thus allowing them the free time to express their displeasure with capitalism via the internet on their latest Apple product? Hmmm. At 21 I was married, living on the income my rookie police officer husband, who spent his days off fulfilling his military reserve commitment while I went to college. At 23, I graduated, passed my boards, worked full time for an employer and did private practice on the side, while my police officer husband worked full time and spent his days off fulfilling his military reserve commitment. Thru our 20’s and well into our 30’s, hubby and I worked 7 days a week. I didn’t have time to protest or invest in anarchy because I was WORKING. Want to know who these fuckers are? They are the children of capitalists!!! They are the 20somethings who have no responsibilities, no bills, no struggle for survival.
At this point in my life, I’ve worked since I was 12. 50 years. I’ve been poor ( and I mean eating beans and rice and living in an mobile home kind of poor) and am now very comfortable. I’m at the point that I’m willing to put a bullet in the skull of any fucktard who threatens my comfort.

Armybrat: Bless you and your husband.

Stoaty: So somebody comes in the store today and slips me a coin that looks like a quarter, but upon closer inspection is a Croatian 2 Kune, and on the back is a fine and frisky weasel! Who knew that the Croatian economy was based on the weasel (Kune is Croatian for Marten) pelt standard? I have to assume that you have jars full of the things buried about the grounds of Badger House, but if not, let me know and I’ll happily mail you some weasel money from Texas.

Mostly middle and upper class dropout kids, and some lumpenproles.

They basically live on the fringes of the bohemian world – drugs, music (espcially punk), art, tattoos and piercings, “performance”, living in “squats”.

They don’t have much money, but they don’t need much money; even overseas travel is dirt cheap by historical standards. They live cheap, mostly, scrounge off parents or the dole or student stipends or grants from various suckers, deal drugs, or work part-time in bohemia.

This leaves them free to be a “Permanent Floating Riot Club”. There’s enough loose money floating around to sustain this.

The Left press treats them with reverence; the Right press (what there is) with contempt. For the authorities, they’re merely an annoyance.

That’s very kind of you, Clifford, but I do have one. Also, a Congolese 25 centimes with a weasel. But the BEST one is the discontinued Maltese 1c.

My suspects: Gentle Giants.

I just realized that this is a mature citizen club with lots of search engine time to burn so I hasten to add “No, not the 1970s rock band”.

Res ipsa loquitur, as we used to say in Puerto Vallarta.

The protests are the desperate cry for justice from struggling, disenfranchised small commercial fishermen. Those haughty Naval officers with their supercilious airs of privilege slice through the long lines and nets with impunity.

It is Fcuk the Capitans!

Times were, tiny rural backwoods Finland stood fast athwart the frozen hell and ground down the very biggest protester/planetary improver of XXth century.
Nowadays, safe, secure, successful grandkids of these heroes pony up for new shop vitrines.

The identities of culprits dare not be mentioned. Is it because they suffered so bad? We are like the dogs smacked on our noses by the folded newspapers. We dare not even ask whether it was “Horse and Hound” magazine or “Vanity Fair”. Because newspapers smack dogs the same way that guns shoot people or pencils misspell wordses.

It could be those pesky non-mingler ethnic networkers. Although far from monolithic bloc and superficially diverse, they are forever united by one overarching question: is it good for the tribe? And by Juno, it usually is.
Understand the tribe is not against capitalism or wealth at all! It is against competition in producing wealth. Its modus operandi is cartel, or shared monopoly.
The most cardinal unforgivable sin one can possibly commit is to not condemn any semblance of nationalism or self-governing ethno-state.
Not that hard to tell an ethnic networker. Look for the shape of the eyes, nose and earlobes. And the names (frequently masqueraded): Nobutada, Nakamichi, Nishimura, Nakagawa (many Nakagawas are now Stewarts, Russells or Hawthornes though).

Unlike S. Weasel I am not that concerned that it costs us Moneys! It is more alarming that it costs us our survivals.

Oh, we know what they want: Communism*.

It’s just that it’s so stupid we don’t even mention it; they’re not serious people with a cause anyone cares for.

(* Oh, many of them call themselves anarchists. But somehow it’s always anarchism where someone sets rules for everyone, and nobody’s allowed to be mean and “selfish”.)
