This guy.
Cartoonist I just discovered. Actually, I liked this panel best. It’s arty. Doesn’t work well small and in black and white, though.
I don’t know much about this guy. He’s British, probably. He’s a libertarian, I think. He got into a Twitter duel with @notch (the guy who sold Minecraft to Microsoft for $1B) and briefly drove him off the internet.
You know, I was going to post a disclaimer about how I didn’t agree with him on everything. Then I realized it was a pure conditioned response because some of his comics are about race. I wouldn’t feel moved to disavow him if we disagreed about economics or feminism or history. Just race. And that made me angry, so I didn’t.
Happy MLK Day!

Do British people even notice race? I thought that was only an American thing. Whenever I listen to BBC, its a story about race in America and how bad everything is. If only the Republicans hadn’t blocked Obama’s Race Initiatives…
MLK, Jr (#2) is meeting with Trump today, probably a bad thing. And the annual MLK, Jr parade is great as usual, participants and media outnumbering crowd by 2 or 3 to 1.
Oh well, its a day off.

Oh, holy shit, tom. I can’t tell you what a mess it is here. More than half the people in London weren’t born in Britain, so if you count PoC’s who were born in Britain…let’s just say the nation’s capital is very, very brown.
One of the biggest problems is Jamaican blacks and African blacks, who hate and regularly murder each other. And African black murdering African blacks, of course, and Jamaican blacks murdering Jamaican blacks. The Indians have assimilated pretty well, but we won’t even talk about the Pakistanis.
Oh, and now we have all sorts of charming Syrians and Iraqis and Afghans crossing the Channel one way or another. And there’s always the traditional Romanian thieves and Albanian pimps.
It’s a powder keg and everyone knows it. You’ll never, EVER hear about it on the BBC though because, much like the Germans have done, they reckon the best way to keep a lid on the pot is to forbid people to talk about it.

It’s amazing the number of people who think racism is “an American thing”. From my experience the USA is probably one of the least racist countries in the world, but people here think it doesn’t exist in other countries, and people in other countries think that however bad it is there, it must be worse in the US.

The only people who think America is the most racist place on Earth have never been to any other country.

Silly weasel…white people are required to disavow everything AND pay generous reparations. Everyone knows that!
Stayed mostly home on this holiday…I had brain surgery last week and I’m supposed to take it easy for a week or so, not use my brain, I guess. 😜
It was very strange to be asked a question like “What year is it?” And not be able to answer it. I could hear it, I could understand it, I knew that I *knew*the answer, but I couldn’t find the answer in my personal hard drive (I was trying to ask my daughter for my clothes and simply could not do it!). The brain doesn’t take rough handling very well, clearly. Fortunately, it went well, I’m back to normal, albeit with platinum coils in my brain. And very grateful that ER doc sent me for an MRI, just in case.
Modern medicine for the win. Plus, I’m much more valuable now than I was before, what with that bit of platinum plugging up the aneurysm. 😎

Nina—I hope you improve quickly. Poking around in the brain is serious. Platinum coils, you say—I need to read up on that. Best Wishes!

“More than half the people in London weren’t born in Britain…” I’d like to see a cite on that. More than half may be foreign-born and/or non-white, but a lot of the non-whites were born in Britain. E.g. the current Mayor, Sadiq Khan, who was born in Tooting. Syed Kamall, who sought the Conservative nomination, was born in Islington.
One thing: I read that there are a lot of French expats in London these days, which may affect the balance.

Following up: as of 2011, the stats were like this:
Greater London – 8.2M people, 5.2 UK born
Inner London – 3.2M people, 1.9M UK born
It’s quite possible that Inner London has changed since then; outer London, I doubt it.
