Hotter than Riyadh

You guys! Seriously! I have never known a run of weather like this here. Granted, my sample size is less than ten years, but still…

Every day, it’s been about 80°, not a breath of wind, not a cloud in the sky. The 80° is astonishing for May, but the cloudless and windless is unheard of at any time. It’s windy here. And cloudy. Usually.

Of course, EVERY SINGLE THING I had lined up for my holiday was an indoor thing (more or less evenly divided between arting and computing), but that all went out the window. I have spent a week in the garden draped over a deck chair reading trash.

It’s been glorious. Not what I planned, but glorious.

And now I’m back.

Reading trash.

Well, I guess that beats reading goat entrails.

Is it clean trash, or were there sticky jam bits on the cream crackers/water biscuit wrappers?

It’s so nice to see someone appreciative of GoreBull Warmin’ and the humidi…. WAIT! Is it humid? ‘Cause, if it’s a dry heat, you don’t really feel it, right?

All your rain wound up here in eastern Canada…New Brunswick had record snowfalls and now they’re having flooding.

80s sound just right. It’s now in the 100s and will be for five months at least. And reading trash in the garden sounds like a perfect way to celebrate birthday week.

Oh hush. We had snow until almost the end of April. We have had 3 nice Spring days so far, including today. So a week of 80? I’m jealous.

Oddball weather in our area resulted in highest pollen count on record last week. Coincidentally due to global aging my allergen sensitivity is at an all time high as well.

Here in San Antonio, we’ve been cooler than usual this spring, but yesterday busted out to 90 degrees, which is normal. I should have spent some time outside, but I was hunched over my computer doing genealogy research, because I have morphed into a maniac.

Skyped with my Granddaughter and her family this morning—before 6 am! Today is her 6th birthday. They like to have birthday breakfast parties in their household, in addition to other parties. Among her various gifts, she received several fairy dolls, and a toy with plastic bugs racing through translucent tunnels (oddly diverting, if nothing else).

Husband and I sent her a string of twinkle lights to swag around her bedroom (such delicate lights—almost like fireflies), and a hooked rug of a curled-up, sleeping gray kitten, with a pink nose. to use beside her bed. The kitten rug is so adorable, I may have to get one for myself, because cute never gets old.

So far, stoaty has not been shot, stabbed, or doused with acid — knock on wood.

Brit twitter went nuts over Trump’s comments this weekend about knife crime in the UK then all this happened. The UK media is pretty bad about reporting the cause of most of this crime, i.e., gangs. I’m pretty sure stoaty doesnt belong to any gang and if she did it would be an artist gang.
