Apparently, I bought one of these

Huh. This arrived today. I’d forgotten I ordered it. It’s probably the most Japanese thing I’ve ever bought.

It’s a teeny, tiny artist’s mannequin. It comes with seventeen different hands, two tiny cellphones, a tiny laptop computer and a tiny sumurai sword. By tiny, the whole dude is like 4″ high.

Sadly, the instructions are in Japanese, so I’m struggling. Yes, yes…I know it all should be terribly obvious, but this is Japanese technology we’re talking.

Manufacturer here. No, I didn’t pay anything like that for it (if you want one, check eBay).

Fair warning: if you communicate with them even once, they will try to sell you something every day of your life, forever. Even after you’ve bought one. They’re like the LinkedIn of tiny plastic Japanese artists’ models.

Would they work for photography? I could photoshop them into background scenes. If I knew how to photoshop.

Oh god weasel. Are we related? I bought the boys Japanese mecha models because they grew up watching Robotech and playing ( said the guy who’s typing this with the latest MechWarrior theme music playing from his computer speaker in the other room) MechWarrior games ( I just salvaged a Centurion! Whoo-hoo!)
Talk about expensive and highly detailed model offers in your e-mail every day!

They even have ones of your witcher herodude.

‘satiable curtiosity insists I ask – were these figures north or south of $30.00 US?

And what does the crocodile have for dinner?

The Body Kun model? Oh, south of £10, I think. But I have a feeling earlier versions were better made. This has some articulation issues. It works okay, but a better-made model would be easier.

As for my witcher herodude, stand by for newpost.

(yeah. I'm going to write)

(oooo! you have a website?)

Beware: more than one link in a comment is apt to earn you a trip to the spam filter, where you will remain -- cold, frightened and alone -- until I remember to clean the trap. But, hey, without Akismet, we'd be up to our asses in...well, ass porn, mostly.
