My Geralt of Rivia, let me show you him
Well, fine. As long as I’m showing off my doll collection. Erm, I mean action figures. Umm, I mean fine pieces of sculpture, this is the Geralt of Rivia I bought myself for my birthday.
Sure, you want to see him in glorious color, to scale, on my desk. A fine example of injection molding, is it not?
These things are regarded as adult collectibles — or ‘adult’ ‘collectibles’ — and can be very, very expensive. Especially when they first come out…or, if you’re lucky, some months later when it turn out they didn’t make enough to satisfy demand. I struck while the iron was lukewarm and didn’t get skinned alive.
Dark Horse is the seller. They make a lot of these things (of varying quality).

It’s a lovely thing. I love both of the man purses. Or, should I call them European shoulder bags?*

Must be exhausting walking around with all that stuff on. Nice detail on the model!

The site where I saw your model (a neondroid? something like that) and it is not nearly as glorious as yours. Anyway it is full of PVC version of, uh, very top heavy models of ‘western’ looking women as imagined by Japanese modelers. Who may be very good at what they do, but are probably only 12 years old and have never had a chance to interact with the real thing.

Years ago, there was a website called “Painted Anvil” that sold pinup art. As a side business, they started selling anatomically correct figurines. I thought that was weird, but who am I to judge. Anyway, the website is long gone, but last I heard, the figurine side business became their main business. Just to be clear: they were selling 12 inch tall pornography dolls that the buyer could dress and undress. I still think that’s weird.

Hello,
I have been a huge fan of your website for quite some time now; and I was just wondering –
In your opinion, are Traps gay?
Personally, I like to stay on the ‘No’ side, however I know that there are merits to both.
Many thanks, and I look forward to your reply soon

Dear Ben,
To the best of my knowledge, traps may or may not be gay, but the knowing pursuit of traps is undeniably homosexual.
Hope that helps.

Their figures are superbly done. Didn’t the Dark Horse people have figurines at one point of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer characters? I searched on their website, and there are some 700 products, but the first few pages were comics and books.

See if Fredrick Remington did that in bronze, well, that’s a big deal. Yet his sculptures weren’t ‘real people’.
But we don’t call those bronzes life size dolls do we.
