Dead Pool Round 112: Now! With that new kitten smell!

This round goes to KMM with Aretha Franklin. She was only 76 (you can tell you’re getting old when you can say things like “only 76”), but I heard it was pancreatic cancer. Mean bastard.

On with the show…!

0. Rule Zero (AKA Steve’s Rule): your pick has to be living when picked. Also, nobody whose execution date is circled on the calendar. Also, please don’t kill anybody. Plus (Pupster’s Rule) no picking someone who’s only famous for being the oldest person alive.

1. Pick a celebrity. Any celebrity — though I reserve the right to nix picks I never heard of (I don’t generally follow the Dead Pool threads carefully, so if you’re unsure of your pick, call it to my attention).

2. We start from scratch every time. No matter who you had last time, or who you may have called between rounds, you have to turn up on this very thread and stake your claim.

3. Poaching and other dirty tricks positively encouraged.

4. Your first choice sticks. Don’t just blurt something out, m’kay? Also, make sure you have a correct spelling of your choice somewhere in your comment. These threads get longish and I use search to figure out if we have a winner.

5. It’s up to you to search the thread and make sure your choice is unique. I’m waayyyy too lazy to catch the dupes. Popular picks go fast.

6. The pool stays open until somebody on the list dies. Feel free to jump in any time. Noobs, strangers, drive-bys and one-comment-wonders — all are welcome.

7. If you want your fabulous prize, you have to entrust me with a mailing address. If you’ve won before, send me your address again. I don’t keep good records.

8. The new DeadPool will begin 6pm WBT (Weasel’s Blog Time) the Friday after the last round is concluded.

The winner, if the winner chooses to entrust me with a mailing address, will receive an Official Certificate of Dick Winning and a small original drawing on paper suffused with elephant shit particles. Because I’m fresh out of fairy shit particles.

I’ma take a reeeal long-shot, here (and sincerely-hope Janey-Insaney Fonda…temporarily…stays outta the way of The Cable-Car Of Destiny, at least until the Next Round comes ’round…) – and go with that slimy, smarmy, sneaking li’l scut-bag named Peter Strzok –

Preferably, he should be crushed into raspberry jam by something very large, very heavy and very sharp-edged, falling – as painfully as possible – from a very great height…but, by whatever means, it should happen a) as soon as possible, b) as suddenly-but-painfully as possible, and c) with no chance whatsoever of his survival.

Timothy S. Carlson and Uncle Al beat me to my first picks, so I will go to a more despicable, but also more likely choice. The only reason that CNN and the rest of the media want the names and addresses of the jurors [this from the filing]: “Therefore the Media Coalition respectfully requests the Court issue an order directing the Clerk to make publicly available the names and addresses of the jurors and alternates who heard this case, at the latest immediately upon the return by the Jury of its verdict.” https://assets.documentcloud.org/documents/4770015/8-16-18-Media-Motion-to-Intervene-and-for-Access.pdf

is to threaten and carry out attacks on the family members of the jurors as extortion to get convictions.
Italics my emphasis, because they want to do it before a verdict is voted on.

So one or more family members of the jurors.

Comment from DurnedYankee

“So one or more family members of the jurors. ”

Now see, in the interests of free speechifying and your right to know stuff you don’t really need to know (because in a proper system of actual justice without media, and/or other, intimidation – WHAT DIFFERENCE WOULD IT MAKE!)

I can say if they DID hand out the juror names, you could put down a name for the list!

That’s why we need to know! 😛

and I hope old Paul, who I bet is guilty of whatever financial crime they charged him with, gets off because I just bought a lot of popcorn, and the subsequent fireworks will be spectacular!

thefritz @ August 26, 2018, 1:11 am: squishy Rino McCain…

The American Conservative Union gave McCain a rating of 57 for 2017, and a lifetime rating of 81. Among Senate Democrats, one had an 8 for 2017, four had 4, and the other 43 had 0; the highest lifetime rating was 30.

So he wasn’t reliable, but he wasn’t bad.

I got sick of McCain’s passive aggressiveness. At times he came thru but always at the last minute, thereby dampening any victory.
