IT’S HERE….!!!

My god — you people are HUGE!

…on my fancy new 27″ monitor…

They quietly upgraded my free 3-5 day shipping to 24 hours. Which makes sense, when you think about it. The longer the thing is on the truck, the more likely it is to get damaged – and they’d be on the hook.

It is slick. It is fine. It is fast. I paid extra for components that featured “quiet” in the description and I can barely hear it run. (My old machine sounded like a 747 taking off).

Now begins the days and days of downloading and setting up my comfy old apps.

Excuse me.

p.s. New Dead Pool tomorrow. Bring your big ol’ selves along at 6 WBT.

Congratulations!! We’re all excited for you! Oh, and for us too, since we can’t wait to see what you do with it!

Such a fine machine deserves a name, and perhaps some nose art on the case like a World War II bomber.

I propose Weasel’s Rocket with this nose art shamelessly stolen from the U.S. Air Force’s “Wild Weasel” electronic countermeasures squadron.

For those not familiar with the “Wild Weasels”, they exist (to this day) to do
truly brave, stupid, and dangerous things
.

I would have put this all in one quote, but as far as I know Akismet hasn’t eaten lately, and he’s a two-links for breakfast kind of guy.

I’m sorry to ask, but what is the thingy in the background with two button-switches? I see a window with hand-made mutton’s and a really cool sill of plaster. But that box with two switches? No wires to it. Looks to be old, maybe, but does not appear to be same vintage as wooden frame.

Have great fun with the new toys! BTW, is it a touch screen? Do you even like touch screens for drawing and stuff like that?

It’s a lightswitch, Tom. This place was retrofitted with electricity (duh, it’s 400+ years old)…probably in the Sixties. Note the Tudor beams behind the empty boxes.

I have a new 27″ non-touch monitor, but I also have one of these.

Gosh, I’m kind of getting above myself, ain’t I?

Awright, who’s the clown who put the clown on the monitor, and who’s that sad clown anyways, huh?

Congrats, Mme. Hermine, vicarious pleasure here we come!

That looks like Al “Jazz Singer” Jolson on the box in background. Bold marketing choice.

So drawing with touchscreen and stylus is the new way of artwork? It’s all so techy and electronic. I seem to recall a huge flap when photography went from film to digital – with film just dying like floppy disks. Easels are the next floppy jewel cases.

The light switch has No wires. Excellent work. Normally there are conduits showing going and coming to retrofitted switches.

Oh, there are external wires, Tom. You just can’t quite see them in the picture. I’m told the really posh people run their retrofitted wires through copper plumbing piping, hammer them flat to the wall and polish them. Us, we just have wires.

Congratulations!

Encasing electrical wires in a conducting medium and hammering said medium flat. Exact science is it?
Sounds like an interesting recipe for, the word escapes me.
Keeping it polished, sounds like a pile of, pardon the expression, chickenshit work.

So, where are the new artworks already!

Yeah, but if you don’t keep the servants busy, they get into mischief.

The juxtaposition of the Styrofoam/boxes and the Tudor beams are kind of Doctor Who-ish.

Has Uncle B had to pry you away from provisioning the new beast yet?

BTW- have you lined up your first game yet?

I agree, Durnedyankee, an inexact way to likely burn down the Manor, servants and all.

Stoaty, didja see that Pantone’s released their 2019 Color of the Year?

Of all the useless paraphernalia I’ve kept upon retiring, I just can’t part with my spot & bridge fans.
