Dead Pool 127: GOGOGOGOGO!

OHMYGOD…I’m supposed to have a Dead Pool up in five minutes! SHIT SHIT SHIT! Timothy J. mcCorkle wins it with somebody named Sid Haig. Whoever. AHHHHH.

Three minutes. GO! GO! GO!

0. Rule Zero (AKA Steve’s Rule): your pick has to be living when picked. Also, nobody whose execution date is circled on the calendar. Also, please don’t kill anybody. Plus (Pupster’s Rule) no picking someone who’s only famous for being the oldest person alive.

1. Pick a celebrity. Any celebrity — though I reserve the right to nix picks I never heard of (I don’t generally follow the Dead Pool threads carefully, so if you’re unsure of your pick, call it to my attention).

2. We start from scratch every time. No matter who you had last time, or who you may have called between rounds, you have to turn up on this very thread and stake your claim.

3. Poaching and other dirty tricks positively encouraged.

4. Your first choice sticks. Don’t just blurt something out, m’kay? Also, make sure you have a correct spelling of your choice somewhere in your comment. These threads get longish and I use search to figure out if we have a winner.

5. It’s up to you to search the thread and make sure your choice is unique. I’m waayyyy too lazy to catch the dupes. Popular picks go fast.

6. The pool stays open until somebody on the list dies. Feel free to jump in any time. Noobs, strangers, drive-bys and one-comment-wonders — all are welcome.

7. If you want your fabulous prize, you have to entrust me with a mailing address. If you’ve won before, send me your address again. I don’t keep good records.

8. The new DeadPool will begin 6pm WBT (Weasel’s Blog Time) the Friday after the last round is concluded.

The winner, if the winner chooses to entrust me with a mailing address, will receive an Official Certificate of Dick Winning and a small original drawing on paper suffused with elephant shit particles. Because I’m fresh out of fairy shit particles.

Oh, Ruthie sweetie … you are all MINE.

And if you were to pass now, during the height of impeachment mania … the insuing political conflagration would be GLORIOUS.

Oh, my goodness! …or badness, perhaps. So many in jeopardy, so many deserving villains whom so many would like to see Epsteined. I really ought to pick someone old, decrepit, and with one foot in the grave with the rest teetering precariously on the edge.

But no, I’m going to go with a political pick. I have a joyous feeling that Nancy Pelosi is going to stroke out on us. I just hope it’s on live teevee.

We’ve got some folks getting up there, and some that really deserve to have the salmon mousse, but I’m sticking with Norman Lloyd. He is 38,310 days old today.

Got beat to RBG. Drat. After the last hospitalization I had an online discussion with an oncological surgeon. Noting that he does not know the particulars of her case, he said that the way they carefully phrased the statement of her condition, and the insertion of the gall duct stent at that point implies a range of survival times. I would phrase it as probably not going to see Thanksgiving, may not see Halloween [except as a returning spirit], and it is possible that she may not make Chinese Independence Day.

So I’ll take Adam Schiff. His being caught giving “parody” testimony under oath in Congress makes people wonder what other deliberate lies he has told in testimony and statements as the Democrat Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee.

Mind you, the Party leaders have no problem with him lying. They have problems with him lying clumsily enough to be caught and maybe having some Conservative start looking back at other things he has done for the Party.

Nothing clever this time. Just another centenarian: James Lovelock

(Biologist, global warmer, concocter of the weird but popular “Gaia hypothesis” – that the Earth is a conscious entity. But also, to be fair, an advocate of nuclear power.)

And I want to echo the sentiments which have been voiced – thank you for your hard work providing statistics for the pool.

He is credited with finding a cure for syphilis in 1909. He invented the precursor technique to Gram staining bacteria. Died 1915.
