Last trip for a while…

We were non-compliant today! We left the house!

We’ve had Wellington’s last shots scheduled for weeks. This morning, we called the vet and they counselled us to come in as planned as this was their last day for who knows how long. They’re shutting it down. We didn’t get to go in, though. You wait in your car, someone comes out and takes the cat carrier, vanishes inside and returns a little while later with your cat.

Nice young lady vet came out and said, “I know this one! I did his castration!”

How nice.

Afterwards, we swung by the gas station and got some bread and toilet paper, as you do.

And that’s it. Now we’re locked down tight.

So how traumatized was kitty by this experience? Do you think he remembered what they previously did to him???

Welcome to my world. You can wear your pajamas all day which is handy when the urge to nap strikes you down. Nap any time; stay up all night. Or sleep a couple of hours and then stay awake for a couple of hours then it’s time for another nap. I don’t watch tv, but youtube videos are interesting; cooking video especially. I’m watching Townsends 18th century cooking; very interesting. Lotta cooking video on youtube. Also animal video; cats, dogs, sea otters, horses, animal rescues – horse training is very interesting.

I still have three feet of snow on the ground but some days, in the afternoon, the sun shines and the snow slowly melts – Should be gone by mid May but there is always a little patch that hangs on … and on … and on.

And I have a hallway to pace, from the back room all the way through to the kitchen – back and forth, sometimes with a detour to the front window to look out at the piles of snow along the driveway … and there is a treadmill in the basement – I hate the treadmill from start to finish, from the moment the belt starts moving until I stop it and climb the stairs to the comfy chair next to the big front window.

It’s a wonderful life.

My brother has been working from home for years now. He sets an alarm, showers, shaves, dresses and is in his office at a set time. He’s Been busting his ass for the last month as he assists his company with shifting most of their workers to “work from home.” Me and my other siblings are new to this “work from home” shit and are hardly working. We’re having regular Zoom meets, alcohol mandatory and trying to include the bro. He’s pissed because he’s working harder than ever, we’re loving life because this is the best gig we’ve ever had!

His self looks very satisfied.

Welp, this couple is entertaining themselves. One does wonder how the conversation preceding this video went(turn the sound on the video before playing).

Mrs D has been sent home from her work, to “my” office here at the house.

This house is not big enough for 2 officers.

So far there have been no wars over who will possess the puppy dogs during the day, but there will be. Ungrateful little wretches go and hang around with her, even though I have been the one spoiling them rotten every day prior to this.

Question, anyone feeling particularly heroic about being confined to your house?

I keep hearing people saying “we’re all in this together” (I literally heard someone say that at Kroger) like we’re driving the Germans out of France or something.

“Guten morgen! Fahr mich bitte nach Brussels”
“Ja, naturlich”

I expect we shall all receive participation trophies or perhaps medals for our bravery when this is over!

It’s hard to know how much they remember, Mark. This one certainly doesn’t hold a grudge. He was in my lap purring as soon as we got home.

Google Translate is gagging on that, BJM. It only handled the last few words, which were “picking up a lot of animals”.

Ha! It reminds me of that Italian popular song that was supposed to (and did!) sound like American English, but was actually gibberish.

Apparently, it started something of a fad!
