Synchronized snoozing…

The boys this afternoon. They don’t do this a lot, but I love it when they do. They aren’t exactly like brothers yet, but I trust there will be a time when I find them curled together in a single snoring fuzzy ball.

It will probably have something to do with Winter.

Looks like the little one is fully recovered from whatever ailed him. Also, please note, he’s not such a little one any more (though he’s terribly skinny).

Good weekend, everyone!

BuhBye, RBG…

Ruth Bader Ginsburg (born Joan Ruth Bader, March 15, 1933 – September 18, 2020)… died.
RIP

RBG – The battery in her automaton must have quit unexpectedly.

Hasta la byebye you old marxist.

Now let the wailing and rending of garments commence apace.
It’s not just the Presidency in November, it’s officially the SCOTUS as well.

And the pictures, I love the way cats fold their front paws over like that when they sleep. Somehow it looks more peaceful.

These look like comfy cats with bed/comforter privileges. The only time I have seen dogs sleep that close together, they were littermates. Otherwise, they maintain a more discrete distance. However, most dogs do the “paw folding over” thing, which is still, nevertheless, totally relaxing to look at.

Lovely photo!

I wonder what year Ginsburg actually died?

@Uncle Badger — A friend said this yesterday:

My mother taught me to only speak good of the dead.
Ginsburg is dead. Good.

@Stoaty…I hateses to suggest this, but have you had the little one tested for FIP? I lost a dear 10 month old kitty to it and not gaining weight was an early symptom…and yes it is a coronavirus. Seems we can’t escape the damned thing.

Stoaty may enjoy The Story of Margie the Murder Chicken.

Morgan Gold’s presentation is light to goofy, but he’s entertaining as he learns to farm fowl.

Yeah, I’m watching chicken stuff. Beats the hell out of the MSM/news cycle.

Because he’s so skinny, BJM? I have been concerned, but I worried about the black and white one for being skinny at that age, too. Before he discovered Dreamies.

Other than that one day, Welly hasn’t seemed ill.

@Stoaty…you’re right, his thinness may be growth related or genetic, I’ve had robust long lived skinny cats. His illness could have been from something he ate, or something that his prey ate and since he recovered it would be a one time event.

Another possibly could be parasites…if he successfully hunts he will pick up parasites. Does he have sickly sweet smelling breath? Check his poop for eggs/casings.

Knowing when or if to take a pet to the vet who isn’t in obvious straits or injured is always a dilemma.

What are the chances Ruthie was on life support for at least a month or more before her exit. And if her dying wish is actually from her, it was written sometime in the last year. I’m not a doctor nor have I stayed in a Holiday Inn Express in the recent past.

I admit to having had a certain suspicion about the progression of her disease in the past. In 2019 she had a stent placed in her bile duct. I had a conversation with an oncologist shortly after that happened. Short form, the reason is primarily to keep the expanding inoperable tumor from blocking/constricting the bile duct. When the duct is blocked you cannot hide the progression of the disease because you turn as yellow as a school bus. In July of this year, she had the stent replaced. The oncologist said that it is not a good sign because generally you have 6 months to a year from that first stent. She lasted a bit over a year. Her last public appearance was in August officiating at a wedding. She was [in whatever state of sentience] on the bench at the last session of the Supreme Court.

So while I do not trust the Democrats NOT to pull something strange like that, I think it was just that she was [series of censorable expletives] stubborn and wanted to try to outlast the election.
