Escaped cow halts motorway traffic
It happened in Surrey this morning. No, not very near to me. No, it didn’t impact my morning. Yes, her name is Daisy.
What? That’s the most exciting thing in my news feed today.

Shouldn’t those cars be facing the other way? They look like they’re driving on the right, not the left.

Good point. The image must be flipped. Also, it’s not nearly enough cars for that time of day…I’m assuming the stopped the traffic farther back.

The Argus article says:
“The police held traffic for about 20 minutes to try to catch it.”
Looks to me it’s likely that the cow-workers came in those vehicles.
I’m glad they were trying to catch the cow. In some parts of the U.S. the cops would have simply shot it.

I wonder if that had anything to do with a couple of obnoxious little ass****s kids using “apple sticks” which is sort of an ‘atlatl’ kind of thing, who caused the cow to jump the three wire.
There might have been an incident, once, a long time ago, when that theoretically happened, but nowhere near the M-whatever in the UK.
