Nethack has turned 35 and been inducted into the Museum of Modern Art (it appears to be Object 199863).
What is? One of the most wonderful and diabolically complex games ever created, and it could run on the stupidest hardware. I wrote more about it in 2009 when I finally won my first game…after playing for 24 years.

It was called Rogue on my Amiga back In The Day. Yeah, getting that Amulet of Yendor out of that dungeon was a chore. One time I was almost back and I starved to death just a few levels away. OMG was so pissed.

Did you use spoilers? I ascended after…mmmm…10-15 years but I definitely leaned on the spoilers.

I didn’t use spoilers, I don’t think, but I did make copies of my good save files. It was several years before I learned that was deprecated. I can’t imagine playing it through in one go.
