Unserious people
I’ve got my numbers right, haven’t I? We’re ten months in, and I know the fundraiser tally is correct. As for the number of times he’s met with General McChrystal — there was a briefing back when Obama took office, and then he scraped up half an hour during his craptacular Olympics bid. Did I miss anything?
This is about the level of artwork you can expect from me for a while. I busted the pen to my Wacom tablet. Actually, Damien busted it three years ago, when he was a wee baby psychotic, and I’ve been holding it together with hope and chewing gum ever since. It finally gave up the ghost last night.
I have a spare. Somewhere. I was using it when I first got here, before the rest of my stuff arrived, so it definitely made it. Tragically, finding it will require…housecleaning.

McCnrystal and Afghanistan are a distraction from the important issues. Like Fox News picking on him, and date night, and fundraisers.

The next one should be how many times he belittled/impugned allies versus the number of times he praised dictators/axis of evil. There would be more slashes on that page than in a Halloween Horror Flick.

If you had a tip jar, we could buy you a new magic-picture-wand. Just sayin’…

I’m pretty sure one of those tick marks was just a phone call rather than an actual meeting, if I recall General McCrystal’s ’60 Minutes’ interview correctly.
I could be wrong.

Well, in some fairness, I can’t really expect the General in charge of the Afghan war to come to Washington all the time to meet with the President. (Or the President to go to a war-zone real often.)
I fault the President for ignoring the Afghan war, not for not meeting General McChrystal in person often enough.
Wheras, a fundraiser? It’s both trivial for the President to attend, and a place to make a speech.
So, meh.

Wheeze…
I feel for ya. If my Wacom went awry, I’d be so totally verklempt! My laptop is a complete boat anchor without it. All my arty stuff, games, … even spreadsheets would cause me great emotional harm with a non-functioning tablet. If you need assistance with replacement parts, I’d be pleased to assist.

Awww…that’s sweet of you, Nancy. But I found my backup! Which is actually the better tablet.
The busted one was a Graphire Uncle B bought me for Christmas so I could see if I liked it. It’s taken a hell of a pounding (it’s been back and forth across the Atlantic in my luggage many’s the time). The other one is an Intuous they bought me for work and kindly let me take when I went. I’ve hesitated to bring it out because I didn’t want to beat IT to shit, too.
These days, I sit on the couch with the tablet perched on the arm, so it experiences a certain amount of…drunken violence.
