Pesky was a hell of a player, and he lived up to his name. He was very pesky to opposing pitchers, he was always on base, stealing bases, fouling off pitches. The man was one of those little sparkplug guys who are great to watch and always valuable to the team. Him, Doerr, and Williams were big time friends from the old Red Sox club. Good folks all of them.
