Day 21: drain

Drain. Did not much stir the imagination.

I suppose I could’ve drawn a whole chicken being sucked down a drain, but that’s too much like work.

Where have all the chickens gone; the whole flock is missing!
Where have all the chickens gone; have they flown the coop again?
Where have all the chickens gone?
They’ve vanished , every single one?
They’ve vanished, every one!

What’s clogging up the drain? Chicken feathers everywhere!
Where’d all the feathers come from? Do you really want to know?
Where have all chickens gone?
Sunday dinner every week!,
Oh, I hope Stoaty never learns about this!
Oh I hope she never learns!

Do you want a breast or thigh? The bucket’s almost empty.
Do you want a breast or thigh? They’re both tasty, so.
It’s Chicken for dinner whenever Badger cooks.
Chicken for dinner again!

Apologies to Peter, Paul, and Colonel Saunders

A line, an arc, a spiral on the paper. An idle doodle. Hmmm what does that look like? Add in some detail, and voila, art happens. Like magic.

This is one of my favorites so far, truth be told. It has a nice time element that leads the viewer of the drawing to think about what might have just happened or is about to happen.

Has a nearby chicken simply lost a feather? Is a prankster chicken trying to fake her own suicide? Has that rare chicken who enjoys a bath just stepped out of the tub after pulling the plug?

The Case of the Twice Flushed Chicken.
.
.
.
Holmes: Obviously Watson, this chicken was sucked down by a vortex in the Northern Hemisphere!

Watson: how did you deduce that Holmes? That’s amazing!
(under his breath) Amazingly wrong, again.
Why don’t you stick your head in and get a first hand look while I give it another flush, you drug addled twit…”

Holmes (oblivious): “Come Watson, the game’s afoot! We’re off to Norway!”

I love your post, you can pull a whole chicken down to a sewer, you’re so good, I appreciate your post.
