Let’s end this week on a kitteh

kitteh

Sorry for such a lackluster week. I’ve done nothing but sleep and look forward to sleep for days.

Must be a change-of-seasons thing. It’s turned cold here. Summer is over. We’ve got the heat on tonight. I’ve broken out the hoodies and fingerless gloves. I am bummed.

Still, it’s Friday. Good weekend with much lovely Z’s to you all!

I *like* when it gets cold…I can finally get a decent night’s sleep…summer is overrated.

Have a nice long Labour Day weekend, everyone in North America :+)

I like the change, too, although it’s not even close to happening here yet.

Not happening here either…we’re getting another heatwave with +31C/88F for a few days…more hibernating in the A/C for me…pretty hot for eastern Canada this time of year, anyway.

And…her in Houston TX USA temps will remain in the low to mid 90’sF for another week…the first relatively “cool” day is forecast to be next Saturday when it will “only” be 85F…waiting anxiously for the first “Blue Norther” to arrive, meaning I can FINALLY stop sweating.

I would love some cooler temperatures, but I’ve lost 12 pounds this summer from swimming every day—and giving up wine. So I’ll continue until the water gets too cold to bear—79 degrees being the lower limit to my joy (or 85, maybe).

Triple digits all next week, looks like.

Feh.

Nice cool down into the 70’s (°F) here this coming week. If the humidity drops too should be a nice change of pace.

Ha! So cold here that I lit the woodburner last night.

Worst summer I can recall for years. It actually touched freezing in some parts of the UK last night.

Exits stage left, muttering and growling.

Mad Jack’s fur looks purrfectly soft and silky. I hope he’s a good cuddle-cat, or maybe he prefers to be a foot-warmer.

Sigh – Still a high of 95 F here in Texas today…. But we get up at 7a.m. and breakfast outside -it’s butterfly and hummingbird season- and it’s lovely and cool.

Question that occurred to me over coffee this morning though:

If someone is “Honest as the day is long” are they less honest during the winter?

I dunno, Some Veg. Somebody had hisself some long, weary days to think that was a good analogy.

Jack has his moments. I just woke up from an afternoon’s nap with him cuddling and drooling disgustingly. Some days he’s a wild tiger, though, and careful of his dignity.

I tossed one box into another one yesterday. This configuration proved immensely popular in some quarters.

I think I’m gong to go outside and lay in the sun for a while. Gotta keep my tan up, doncha know.

The holiday weekend was a bust for vacationers here. It poured rain on Friday, snowed in the high country. Dismal and breezy yesterday. Just a glitch; temps are heading into the 90’s by the end of the week. Then a month of Indian Summer, the nicest time of year. The cold front was a godsend for the smoke jumpers working the wildfires, so no one’s whining about spoiled plans.
