All hail the birfday boi

I don’t think I’ve ever had a cat whose exact birthday I knew – except, of course, the ones I saw being born. Wellington’s birthday is today. He is one.

I think he’s got some growing yet to do, so I’m keeping him on the kitten food a little longer. He’s a skinny boy.

He’s also a pretty boy. I done him dirty shooting him with flash, but the without-flash version was just noise.

Have a good weekend, everyone!

@durned I was about to remark on the size of his feets too. I love cat feet they are so soft and velvety.

My kitty Sweetpea loved to have her toes massaged while we watched TV. At first she objected, but who can resist a foot massage? She stretched her toes out and purred like mad.

Unfortunately she went missing last month, most likely to a coyote. I sure miss her happy face. I’m working on taming a young black and white barn cat at the moment, but he has a ways to go before he’s a lap kitty.

He is a handsome boy (and a jolly good fella, too). And that heavy tail makes me think there’s some wildcat in Wellington’s DNA.

@BJH – sorry!
Delilah has kitty AIDS and the vet asked us to keep her inside (she just this second has climbed up on the desk and is eyeballing me for head scratches), which is hard on her since I know she’s an outdoor (re-claimed stray) who loves “the hunt”.
I kinda view that as the one good thing about her condition, because it’s not the Mrs that gets all twitchy when Delilah manages to dash out a door held open for too long and wanders the wild searching for bunnies or lizards.
We have more coyotes and bobcats than is good for snack sized family pets.

At least she isn’t sitting on the mouse hand this morning 🙂
