We smell.

Those little black triangles are places where the water supply is low to non-existent. We aren’t even that near one and our water is out. Has been, off and on, since last Friday.

My first idea for an illustration was cartoon stink lines. Nobody’s having a whole lot of hygiene. Thanks to our storage tank, I can at least wash my hair in rat water.

It feeds the toilet, too, so we’ve been able to flush as normal. Phew. It looks like times when we have a little water, it trickle-fills that tank.

What happened, you ask? Earthquake? Bombing campaign?

I can’t speak to all those other black triangles, but rumor has it in our area there was some planned maintenance project, during which some bit of engineering that hasn’t seen sunshine since Victoria went pop.

No idea when we’ll be clean again.

Two pints of water in a tin cup.
Disrobe.
Wet a cloth in the water, being sure to wring it out back into the cup.
Do pits and parts.
Use about half the remaining water to wash your hair and face.
Have Uncle B take the other half and selectively pour it over your head being careful to target the suds.
But before he pours you must solemnly say “Do me Jamie”.

You may heat the water, or not, depending on your preferences.

You’ll be amazed how much better you will feel especially if you haven’t bathed in a couple days.

Interesting addendum to “The Sycamore Tree” by wikipedia – they listed it in their “Deaths in 2023” section.

In case your water shortage worsens, how close are you to the Channel and some kind of public access beach/shingle/tidal pool? Regular soap doesn’t work in saltwater because it’s usually sodium salt based, but a potassium salt based soap made especially for saltwater bathing is an acceptable alternative. After scrubbing and shampooing and rinsing in saltwater, use a small amount of fresh water as a final rinse and Beto’s your uncle.

Did anybody have Dianne Feinstein in the Pool? Apparently a load of shingles fell on her or something. I only glanced at the headline.
