Also gay

Ever since the first Assassin’s Creed game released in 2007, fans of the franchise have hankered after a version set in Feudal Japan. Well, this year they’ll get it. Good and hard.

It has two playable characters, a Japanese woman ninja and this guy – the one black guy in all of Feudal Japan (yes, he existed. No, he wasn’t a Samurai).

But that apparently didn’t piss off their fanbase enough, so they decided to make one or both LGBTEIEIO.

Part of the ongoing “I have control of this property you love and I’m wiping my bottom with it” trend in modern media. I can understand why activists do it – they’re activists – but I can’t understand why the shareholders put up with it. A failed videogame (or movie or TV series) is a very expensive proposition. BlackRock isn’t sliding them that much DEI money.

Have a good weekend!

I don’t have to worry about DEI in gas station simulator.

BlackRock might be not funding them very much. But Soros sure is!

Poke the woke with a joke! Since they have no sense of humor about themselves, we have to laugh for — and at — them.

I’ve been waging an utterly futile crusade for years to get people to make a slight modification to the now traditional GLBT initials. Use GBLT and pronounce it giblet, meaning poultry offal (heart, gizzard, liver, etc.). As in “Oh, Phil just came out as a giblet,” or “The giblets are restless tonight.”

The ever-increasing length and complexity of that unpronounceable string, especially with the symbols, makes this almost a necessity.

@Stoaty — How’s that new SDD working out? Is it as fast as you expected? How much space is left? 🙄

In case you need a bigger drive, I just ran across this goodie on Amazon. 8T in a gadget the size of a stick of chewing gum.

I can’t speak to the attitude of the Japanese towards Blacks in the 1600’s but I do have some more modern experience over the past 40 years. The same is true regarding their attitude towards Gay people. Ain’t no Historian nor Sociologist but I do have some years of anecdotal exposure.

As to Gay people…nobody cares. They’re just ordinary people like most Gays everywhere. Some Samurai might have been gay but. It didn’t define their identity.

As for this African Black having been made a Samurai well, I don’t know but I do know that these are the people who made a Cat a Train-Station Master

SDD doing fine, Uncle Al. Considering it’s a 2T drive replacing a 1T drive, it will be a while before I feel the pinch.

I miss the Comments link, Stoaty, for what that’s worth. It was nice being able to catch up on the comments, even on old postings.

I do so enjoy physical identity history when what matters isn’t the person and who they were but instead defines them by their skin tone and, if we’re lucky, their sexual preferences!

That way we can shit-can people who made meaningful contributions (like say Thomas Jefferson) and replace them with some clown who’s sole historical contribution was they existed just to satisfy a bunch of whinging twerps who have accomplished so little in their own lives they have to have a “hero” who “looked like them” to make themselves feel important.

I wonder if the black samurai could leap from a 5 story building and land and survive in 2 foot pile of straw as well as a “real” Japanese samurai could…..doh.

I miss it too, Deborah. Now you can’t tell if a late entry has been made to a post.

I don’t know when it broke, but I’m a little worried about tinkering with the code. It’s all homemade and backwards. I’ll have a look…
