Not going to do a September 11 post this time

jumper

I remember. You bet I do. But the date just makes me feel sullen and angry, and too many of the memorials only make that worse.

We let those poor bastards down terribly, and it all feels unresolved and unavenged. Too much hand-wringing, not enough smiting.

Unfinished.

Me too, but we are still getting there, against the will of the wringers.

it’s the pictures of the jumpers that just suck my breath. How hellish was it that plunging 100+ floors seemed like the best option?

I can not watch this stuff on the telly–it just
pisses me off–and the communist-in-chief that we have
now encourages more of the same

Despite not doing a 9/11 post, this is your best one yet.

Барак Обама должен вырастить некоторые орехи и пнуть задницу террориста!

(..something about Obama developing his manhood and kicking some terrorist ass!)

My feelings exactly. Well put. Strangest thing, this day. I just got home from a Cub Scout pack meeting with my son. At the end of the meeting, they went outside in the dark, and the head guy said a speech (these are 6-11 year old kids) about the attacks, and how the nation survived. It was a Flag retirement ceremony, where they burn a worn out flag in proper fashion to retire it. The looks on those kids faces while they listened to his speech was heartening. Maybe we do have a future here, after all.

I understand where you’re coming from, Weasel. But I post on this anyway, with a Project 2,996 tribute. With the Obama-ites trying to flush the attack down the memory hole – Day of Service and Remembrance? – I think it’s important to remember the true toll on us of that day.

“…and it all feels unresolved and unavenged.”

The wrangling and infighting over the rebuilding hasn’t helped with that either. I’m not sure if they’ve even approved the designs yet.

I’d have liked to see them recreate the Towers exactly as they were, a monumental ‘F**k You!’ on the skyline…

*sigh*

We’ve done a fair bit of smiting (I read somewhere that we’ve killed about 100,000 Jihadists in Iraq and Afghanistan, and of course there’s been collateral damage). The problem is if you have even 5% of a 1.3 billion strong group in support of 9/11, the actual amount of smiting that might need to be done in the end is terrifying.

I agree JuliaM. That or literally a giant “F**k You!”…perhaps in flashing neon.

I wrote a letter to myself asking how I could better serve our beloved pResident: by kneeling, crawling, or outright groveling. It was strangely…unsatisfying. But I’m sure our Savior will fix that somehow.

“Remember the Maine”?

How about “Remember 9/11”?

Where’s good, old-fashioned, Hearst yellow journalism when you need it?

Sadly I was listening to talk radio that morning on 9/11/2009 and they played a tape of a 911 call from the whatever floor of one of the towers. I was a EMT for 12 years! That was just over the top of what I have seen or experienced! Never again will I listen to talk radio under any circumstances! It was nothing but torture!!!
