It’s good, but I seriously doubt he’ll be sworn. There are 72 days till then, the election results won’t be certified until Jan 5, if they even are, and the oposition just isn’t going to shut up & color. The left is absolutely terrified of a Trump administration They may….may…accept a conservative one but they will do all they can to prevent The Donald from taking office. I’m not sure how they’ll manage this, yet try they most certainly shall. I fully expect iniquitousness to reign. I fear this is far from a conclusion.

Durnedson #2 and I were both awakened at about 12:45 Central time last night.

We were both disturbed, something felt wrong.
We exchanged several texts, one of them was this picture above.

It said “Coming Soon, SCREAM 2”

Then, suddenly he said
“Father, I just felt a great disturbance in the force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out into the November 6th morning sky. I fear something terrible has happened.”

“Yes, terrible” I said, “terrible for the Democrats.”

@Deborah HH — It looks like Rancid Nan she be a-meltin’! It’s not a lock quite yet, but the non-partisan forecasters are giving it a 0.95 probability of a Rep majority in the House.

It won’t be clear sailing by any measure, though. Among those Republicans who will be in the Senate and House majorities are quite a few who will remain highly antagonistic to President Trump and his plans, especially those about tariffs and trade. At least this time, PDJT has much more familiarity with just how the slimy system works, and has a great many more compatible candidates for his administration’s key positions.

Fingers crossed, prayers daily (at a minimum).

There’s always some magical reason the right wing fascists never fulfill the expectations of the progressives here in the US.

Although there’s always some reason the Republicans never do the things they promised, like killing Obamacare, even after we hand them control of the House, Senate, White House and give them a conservative Supreme Court.
So this appears perhaps to be a human issue, rather than an ideology issue.

Personally, I think it’s because most people are little furry creatures hiding in the weeds and secretly enjoy being frightened by the scary bogeyman men, wolves and dinosaurs of our imaginations.

Look at how we choose to “entertain” ourselves, horror movies, games and books, ever increasingly frightening “safe” thrill rides, and cheery stories of pandemics, global climate disasters and killer asteroids.

Most people, frankly, are sheep, waiting to be herded by authority figure sheep dogs who “protect us” from the often imaginary wolves they keep us in line with, lurking just on the other side of the hedge row.

It is fun watching the Progressive tearpocolypse. But man, there is some serious crazy here in the States.

Uncle Al – insight, realized one day at a 7-11 where 15 or so of us stood quietly in line waiting to purchase coffee, donuts, gas, what have you, while literally no-one manned the register.

One person just left, tired of waiting. After a couple minutes, I walked into the back room behind the register where an IT guy and the clerk on duty were futzing around with a computer, and I pointed over my shoulder like “hey! we’re standing here”.

He responded “huh? what?” at my nerve for walking back there I suppose, and came out front to cash us out.

I’m by nature a little sheep dog, but I don’t want to be, because as a rule I find it to be a thankless job often fraught with opportunities to really screw the pooch, and as Henry observes “it yearns me not if men my garments wear”.

How many times do you think the Clintons and the CIA and the FBI and the DoJ and the SS will try to assassinate him?
And when will they start those attempts?
