A criminal brought to justice

That would be me. I knew when I moved here I was supposed to file a 1040 tax return every year and I never did. You have to make something like $80,000 in one year before Uncle Sam comes for his share, and spoiler: I never have. So I kicked the can.
But now it is time to collect my pension, like the nice old lady that I am, I have to get it straightened out. The trans-Atlantic thing makes it complicated, but fortunately I’m not the only American to move to England, or even Sussex. I knew a guy.
It looks like it isn’t going to be too onerous to get it straightened out. As part of it, though, I have to give him a list of all the accounts I hold anywhere. And that means looking up tiny accounts I haven’t accessed in years because I squirrel stuff away. Heigh-ho!
Isn’t Grok’s weasel vomitously cute?

I had not seen this

Seen on the interwebs earlier today, the oldest known photograph of Abraham Lincoln. Proving that he wasn’t always a freaky-looking dude. Of portrait photography, the robot says: “the practice became common for the middle class during the 1840s, and by the 1850s–1860s it was a routine part of American life.”
He was born in 1809, so in his thirties or forties here. He was 56 when he was elected president. I guess it was a hard twenty years.
