Well, there’s always 2025

artist’s reconstruction

A bunch of us, strangers, gathered on a scenic overlook facing East at 9:35 and saw a deep and impenetrable nothingburger. We weren’t even able to figure out exactly where the sun was. After a while, someone muttered, “looks like your typical gray English morning.”

Other parts of the country were luckier.

In addition to the eclipse, y’all know it’s the Equinox, yes? So it was also the day blue hairs descend on Stonehenge for the world’s most elderly cosplay competition.

Good weekend, all!

Solstice, Equinox. Some pretend-Druid hippie crap.

I have stealthily changed the original to make me look better and your comments look inexplicable.

You say Solistice, I say Equinox
You say Inexplicable, I say What The Fuck?
Let’s just call the whole thing odd.

That’s another of those “Dirty tricks positively encouraged” things, isn’t it? God, I do love that rule. Woot!

Let’s not forget the blood supermoon. (Which I won’t see either, this being spring in Oregon.

I don’t know, Uncle Badger. Stoaty wearing a wreath of flowers on her head and doing the weasel dance might be something to see.

Spring might be more exciting if we’d had much of a winter.

I don’t think there’s been a single meteor shower or comet sighting period when the sky has been clear enough to actually see it where I live. I have to take their word for it that things are spectacular.

Exactly my view, Nina. The two tolerable months of the year in Da Swamp are January and February, which are, I suspect, much like spring in civilized climes. Then a switch clicks on March 1, and we’re stuck with humid warmth shading over into humid sticky heat until approximately Christmas. Gah.

I suggest Quito. Mid 60s every day, mid 40s every night. 12-hour daylight year round.
