Nothing happened today. That is all.

This. This was my whole day.

It’s the tippy top of a lovely yellow rose, which is exactly what I can see reclined in my deckchair. It’s a fantastic year for roses – must be the ‘orrible wet Winter we had.

Oh, wait. There was also fish and chips.

I spent the morning dehydrating outside while burning cuttings from a bunch of trees which were bought masquerading as bushes. This is an annual event which I hope to resolve later this year with extreme prejudice. (I’m getting too old for this.)

I seriously miss a good chippie.

heh – I’m too old for that crap now.
But a Chippie has nothing to do with fish & chips here.
and what’s worse is I forget WHY a pretty young thing is called a ‘Chippy’ .

But they are. I was unaware in ‘Merica it referred to “soiled doves” and “ladies of the evening” or “wayward young ladies” until I checked the interweb.

But speaking of fish, Cod in particular – we just found and tried 2 very nice recipes. There’s been a lot of cooking going on around here these last few months.

I lovelovelove Fish & Chips and order it any chance I get.
I like fish sticks. Don’t tell. JavaMan makes a wicked red sauce, but sometimes he gets too much horseradish in it. And we usually have Ranch Style Beans and cole slaw with fish sticks. But I don’t like fish tacos because restaurants never fry the corn tortillas, which is just wrong (a soggy tortilla is a sin.)

Deborah, a common lunch time treat here is a fish stick sandwich. I suppose it’s not much different than a McDonald’s fish sandwich, but I’ve never tried one.

Also battered and fried Spam, which is nice.

No, though I think I’ve seen barbecue flavored Spam. And the low salt version (ew). Or was it low fat?

I don’t know what the commercial fish and chips places use, Durned.

The fish and chips places fry the Spam?

(Spam spam spam spam lovely spam! Wonderful spam!)

I thought it was something Uncle B introduced you to!

I shall explore the interweb and discover this thing.

Battered & fried Spam? I. don’t. think. so.

Low fat Spam? Unpossible.

However, I’ll have a battered and fried Snickers or a Milky Way Midnight.

Beware: more than one link in a comment is apt to earn you a trip to the spam filter, where you will remain -- cold, frightened and alone -- until I remember to clean the trap. But, hey, without Akismet, we'd be up to our asses in...well, ass porn, mostly.
