Oooo…that’s not sinister at all…

Welp, they’ve done it. They’ve mandated masks (ten days from now, which makes even less sense). That’s me and Uncle B confined to quarters again for a while. Him, because of scruples and me (pff! scruples?) because neurotic.

I’ll be interested to see how compliant people here are. It’s a £100 fine and it will be enforced by police, so largely unenforced then. There’s almost zero police presence outside big cities.

My guess? Women will comply and men will defy.

Speaking of compliance, Bill Gates And GAVI Vaccine Alliance are working on an AI-Powered ‘Trust Stamp’ to combine vaccine, biometric ID and payment processor. In West Africa. Of course.

They’ve been working on it since 2018, so it was conveniently COVID-ready. That’s much scarier than the bug.

Note the article (and the illustration above) are from a site called Humans Are Free which the Internet tells me is a hotbed of kookery. I suspect because they don’t believe in globular warmening. I vaguely feel like I’ve heard of it, but the webs are so big these days.

It’s not neurotic to worry about your health. You’ve mentioned before that you take medicine for your blood pressure, and that you are vulnerable to lung problems.

Yesterday I saw an elderly woman (about 80) wearing a clear plastic shield attached to a band around her head that held it out a little from her face. She seemed comfortable enough, and the bottom of the shield was 3-4 inches longer than her chin. If you could find something like that, maybe you could manage an outing.

Eh, all this will go on as long as we allow it. It’s not like the loonies actually control things, but for some reason we’re letting the children play mayor and fire chief and police chief and so on.

So, yes, this will go on.
Till we decide it’s time to stop.

In other important news, the Constitutional (here in the US) guarantee by the 6th Amendment for a fair and speedy trial has been denied to Gasoline Maxwell, as she will be held in prison until she has time to kill herself by her trial, in July of 2021.

It is said that “In the land of the blind, a one-eyed-man would be king.”

But in truth, in the land of the blind, a person claiming ‘vision’ and speaking of light and dark and colors would be locked up in a deep dark windowless dungeon for his own protection. And to protect society from his madness.

There was a short science fiction story about that many years ago. I’ve long since forgotten the name of the author and he should be credited for that short story.

So I wear a ‘face covering’ now to signal that I am on the right side and one of the good people.

If all the statute says is “mask”, what’s wrong with Guy Fawkes?

How did the get the virus to agree not to infect anyone for 10 days? How stupid do they think people are?

Something must be done. This is something, therefore it must be done.

Politicians and bureaucrats often get in trouble for not doing anything, they rarely get in trouble for doing the wrong thing.

Boston has been mandatory masks since May. Hubby and I, like everybody else, carry them in our hand and put them on as we walk into anyplace (because you can’t get in ANY building without one on your face). Our movers will be here on Thursday.

ArmyB – I wear mine under my politically incorrect Lockheed F35 or Gander Mountain gimme hat.

Think they’d get a message if we all started wearing Guy Fawkes masks?

And yes, based on extensive research done by various government organizations here in the states, particularly the Dallas County Commission and the State of New Jersey, it has been determined that Covid is a polite virus that only afflicts individuals who refuse to wear a mask ever, and never afflicts those who do all the time or for the mandated by science times, for example, when worn TO their dining table but removed for the period of dining.

DeborahHH – those face shields are what we’re looking to do in the office, whenever we reopen. But I’m not so much worried about my health as claustrophobic.

I’ve read that every so often, someone in a moon suit in a high-security containment lab loses his shit and strips to his undies in the hot zone. That would be me. I would be that person.

Jeff Gauch (above) has put his finger on it.

The proof is that shop assistants, who have been face to face with thousands of people since the bug struck, are not going to be compelled to wear a muzzle. If masks were necessary, half of those shop assistants would now be dead.

This is just gesture politics from a generation of wholly inadequate politicians.

I bought a surplus Brit CBRN suit to clean out the box car (60+ year old freight car) on our East Texas property. As a dumbass young man I cleaned out a stable used as a kennel, and will never forget the fleas crawling and jumping all over me. Not again. Ever.

So I bought the CBRN suit because the box car door has been opened since right after Noah docked the Ark and I don’t need Hanta Virus (See, I DO take some viruses seriously). I tried it on of course when I got it.

All I can say is you Brits must be able to hold your rental on beer for a long long long time, because that suit makes no allowances for potty breaks.

Beware: more than one link in a comment is apt to earn you a trip to the spam filter, where you will remain -- cold, frightened and alone -- until I remember to clean the trap. But, hey, without Akismet, we'd be up to our asses in...well, ass porn, mostly.
